12.4. Bypass switch
The SATA AB1 has a bypass circuit so that demineralised water can be
filled in the tank or the filter cartridges changed even when the breathing
protection hoods are operating.
Notice!
While the bypass is active, the breathing air is neither filtered, heated or
humidified.
Activate bypass
■ Open bypass ball valve [5-2].
■ Close main air valve [5-1].
Fill tank without optional demineralised water supply
■ Fill with demineralised water (see chapter 12.1).
Fill tank with optional demineralised water supply
■ Fill with demineralised water (see chapter 12.2).
Replace filter cartridges
■ Replace the filter cartridge (see chapter 13.2).
Deactivate bypass
■ Close bypass ball valve [5-2].
■ Open the main air valve [5-1].

13. Maintenance and repairs

The following chapter describes the procedures involved for maintaining
and repairing the SATA AB1.
13.1. Clean tank
When not in use, the tank must be drained completely and stored in open
state, turned upside down. The maximum water
and drying temperature for cleaning is 60 °C.
Attention!
Damage from wrong cleaning agents
The use of aggressive cleaning agents can damage the SATA AB1.
→ Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
→ Use a neutral cleaning solution with a pH of 6 – 8.
→ Do not use acids, caustic solutions, bases, paint strippers, unsuitable
regenerates or other aggressive cleaning agents.
■ Remove tank from SATA AB1 and open tank (see chapter 12.2).
