of the exhaust port or in the hot exhaust gas
stream area.
• Install the turn signal so that it is protected from
vibrations, since, in extreme cases, vibrations

4 | Installation

4.1 | Legal requirements for the installation of turn signals with
integrated brake and tail light:
Turn signals with integrated brake and tail light are only for
motorcycles which have been approved as per EC law (almost
all vehicles registered for the first time from around 1998). The
following dimensions apply:
• Distance between the rear turn signals of at least 180 mm
(inside edge to inside edge of turn signal lenses)
• Height of the road surface 350 mm (bottom edge) to 1,200 mm
(top edge)

If the motorcycle has been registered as per German law (older
vehicles from before 1998), the turn signals with integrated brake
and tail light cannot be used as a maximum of one brake and tail
light is permitted in the vehicle midline.

When using the turn signals with integrated brake and tail
light, the original brake and tail light has to be removed as a
maximum of two brake and tail lights are allowed.

4.2 | Preparation

Place the motorcycle securely on the stand. Disconnect the vehicle
battery. by releasing the earth (ground) connection (black cable).
Then remove the existing turn signals that you wish to replace and
disconnect the power cables. Proceed in the same way with the
brake and tail light.
4.3 | Installation
CAUTION!

Risk of injury!

To ensure the safety of the vehicle, the turn signal
must be securely and firmly fixed – if a turn signal
falls off while you're riding your bike, it could cause
an accident.
Therefore, proceed as follows:
