11. MAINTENANCE

For maintenance, only use the spare parts. The manu-
facturer will not be held responsible for any accident
occurring following a repair done other than by its after-
sales service or approved repairers.

11.1 Replacing the batteries

For your safety, never open the detector before first
disconnecting it from any source of electricity.
Remove the two captive screws fixing the battery
compartment cover and open the battery compartment.
When the compartment is opened, it automatically
disconnects the batteries from the internal electronics.
Replace the three worn-out batteries with three new 1.5 V
batteries, taking care to respect the polarity (type R6 or
LR6), unless rechargeable batteries are used.
Close the battery compartment and tighten the two
screws on the back of the unit to ensure that it operates
correctly.
11.2 Storage
If the detector is not used for a period of more than 60
days, remove the batteries and store them separately.
11.3 Cleaning
The instrument must be disconnected from any sources
of electricity.
To clean the instrument, use a cloth slightly soaked in
soapy water. Rinse with a damp cloth. Then dry rapidly
with a cloth or pulsated air.
11.4 Calibration
It is essential that all measuring instruments are regulary
calibrated.
For checking and calibration of your instrument, please con-
tact our accredited laboratories (list on request) or the
CHAUVIN ARNOUX subsidiary or Agent in your country.
11.5 Maintenance
Repairs under and out of guarantee : please return the product
to your distributor.
