Fitting and removing the rotary bur
CAUTION!
Never use burs that are bent, deformed, worn, corroded,
broken or defective, burs with cracks in the edges or shafts,
burs that do not conform to ISO standards, burs that have
been tampered with, or burs that do not conform to the
specifications given herein. Follow the instructions provided
by the manufacturer of the bur you are using.
Only use burs that satisfy the following criteria: shaft
diameter 2.334 / 2.350 mm type 2 according to ISO 1797-1,
max. bur length 44.5 mm code 4 according to ISO 6360/1.
DANGEr!
Always wear gloves to avoid the risk of lesions and
infections when checking, cleaning, repairing or extracting
teeth.
DANGEr!
Only fit the bur in the handpiece when the handpiece is
stopped. Never attempt to grip a bur while it is rotating,
even when it is nearly stopped.
DANGEr!
Never press the locking button on the handpiece while
the instrument is in use or has not quite stopped. Doing
so can cause the bur to become loose of cause the
locking system to overheat and break.
WArNING!
Never operate the handpiece without a bur in the spindle.
This could cause the handpiece to overheat, causing
damage or burns. Never exceed the maximum speed
specified by the bur manufacturer. Keep bur shafts clean
at all times; dirty shafts can cause dirt to enter the spindle,
leading to the bur slipping during rotation, or even
