Installation
These installation instructions depict the front basic
carrier bars being mounted/removed on the B-Class.
Fitting/removal of the rear basic carrier bar on the
B-Class as well as fitting on the A-Class and CLA
should be carried out in the same way.
Carry out the installation with the help of a second
person.
1. Open the covers completely.

2. Unlock the covers (6) with the key (3) and
remove them from the basic carrier bar (1).
3. Loosen the screws (9) a quarter turn using
the tool (4).
Note
Adjusting the screws (9) allows you to adapt the
basic carrier bars to the exact width of the vehicle
roof. This adjustment must be made when fitting
the carrier bars for the first time.

4. On both sides of the basic carrier bar (1), lift the
red lever (10) up. Fold the quick-release lever (11)
down and turn it to the right.
5. Place the basic carrier bar (1) as indicated, in the
correct position on the vehicle roof (7), so that the
feet (12) are seated in the fastening points (13).

6. On both sides of the basic carrier bar (1) fold the

quick-release lever (11) down, hold and turn it to the
left. Fold the quick-release lever (11) up to the stop.
Press the red lever (10) down.
7. Tighten the screws (9) with the tool (4).
8. Place the covers (6) back on and lock them with
the key (3).
9. Follow the same procedure to fit the rear basic
carrier bar (2).
