The STATOP 4850 is a temperature controller with simple or Hot/ Cold action with microprocessor, combining P.I.D control with fuzzy
logic. Fuzzy logic increases the P.I.D performance, allowing in particular a faster approach to the setpoint value, with a minimum
of overshoot. It also offers a better control stability during variations in load or setpoint.
An autotune device makes the STATOP 4850 simple to use, even for novice users. On the front panel, three keys give access to
the parameters. Free access to these parameters can be prohibited by software, in order to ensure the security of the whole

installation.

The STATOP 4850 is designed to operate from a thermocouple, a thermometric resistance or a linear voltage or current signal. The
type of input signal as well as the measurement scale are easily modifiable by programming, without it being necessary to recalibrate
the instrument.
The controller has one control output OUT1 and two alarm outputs, A1 and A2. The latter can be defined, by programming, as a
second control output (OUT2), for Hot/ Cold control (double action). Alarm A1 can be configured as a timer.
As an option, the STATOP 4850 has analogue 4...20 mA or digital RS485 data transfer.

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

Temperature. Take care not to exceed 50°C and install air conditioning equipment if there is a risk of exceeding it.
Vibration, shocks. It is necessary to install the instrument in a place protected from shocks and excessive vibrations and,
generally, to take all precautions to ensure its mechanical protection.
Dust. In very dusty atmospheres or harsh environments (e.g. acid vapour), the instrument must be placed in an enclosure,
cupboard, or even subjected to low pressure clean, dry air or neutral gas.
Electric and magnetic fields. In order to avoid the harmful effects of certain power equipment, keep the instrument away from
power contactors, static relays with triacs and thyristors, motors, etc.

PANEL CUT-OUT AND MOUNTING

N. B. : Remove any burrs from the cut-out prior to installation, and take care that nothing metallic enters the instrument's
case via the ventilation slots.
There are two ways of mounting the instrument: with a plastic flange or two screw straps.
Take off the device in place on the controller and insert the controller through the front of the panel. Put the tightening clamps at
the back of the controller and tighten the screws of the clamps until it holds the front of the controller in the panel cut-out.
