OPERATION

The STATOP 4850 is equipped with two DPM's which have four digits. On power up, the code 9200 and the version of the programme
are shown on the display. Then all points and segments remain on for a few seconds. Next, the display
measured (providing the controller has a correctly connected sensor on its input terminals), and display
The selected measurement unit is shown at
Programming of the controller is done by means of the 3 keys on the front panel, in two clearly distinct groups :
- Parameters (data defining the control process)
- Utilities (calibration, definition of security, etc.)
During programming, the indices and the values of each parameter are shown respectively in displays

SETPOINT VALUE

Outside the programming phase, the display

To change from one digit to another, briefly press either of the
the required setpoint value, taking into account the working unit of the controller (°C or °F, indicator
After a few seconds without action on the keyboard, the controller returns to the display of the measured value.

USING THE KEYBOARD
During programming, the 3 keys on the front panel have different functions depending on whether they are pressed singly or jointly,
and whether the pressure exerted on them is brief or for more than 4 seconds.

Function
Brief
Access to the unprotected parameters (level 0)
Scrolling of the parameters (protected or not)
Also used in the utilities programme.
t ≥ 4 s
Access to the protected parameters.
Also used in the utilities programme.
Brief
Allows modification of the value of a digital parameter. The active digit is brighter than the others.
It moves the active digit.
t ≥ 4 s
Increases the value of the highlighted digit (for a digital parameter) or offers the next choice
(for a parameter with multiple choice).
Brief
Allows modification of the value of a digital parameter. The active digit is brighter than the others.
It moves the active digit.
t ≥ 4 s
Reduces the value of the highlighted digit (for a digital parameter) or offers the previous choice
(for a parameter with multiple choice).
and
Brief
Return to the previous parameter.
Also used when recalibrating the instrument.
t ≥ 4 s
Keyboard lock. Prohibits access to all the parameters.
and
Brief
Access to the utilities programme.
and
Brief
Exit from utilities programme, switches off autotune or manual mode.
Also used to unlock the keyboard.
t ≥ 4 s
Triggers the autotune procedure of the controller.

CLASSING THE PARAMETERS

The parameters accessible with this programme can be classed in 3 different levels (levels 0, 1 and 2).
The parameters of level 0 are directly accessible by a short press on
is displayed.
The parameters of level 1 will be accessible after
on level 0. During this press, the parameter flashes, to indicate that it is indeed the last one and that it determines access to level 1.
The flashing stops when this level is entered.
Scrolling of parameters of level 1 is done by successive presses on
In the same way, the parameters of level 2 will be accessible during the display of the last parameter of level 1, by pressing
for a few seconds.
This hierarchical organisation, which is entirely configurable by means of the utilities programme, offers a double advantage.
It makes it possible to transfer the parameters that are unused or that are permanently classed at a higher level, and thus to save
time when it is necessary to re-programme the controller. It also contributes to the security of the installation by only leaving certain
parameters freely accessible.
The menu of parameters described on the following page corresponds to the one accessible when the controller is used for the first
time. The parameters accessible for each level can next be changed to another level as required by the user, by means of the utilities
programme.
