taking it out of the hole. When drilling with percussion, use only and ex-
clusively the recommended drills with the SDS-plus shank. You cannot
use directly the percussion drills with the cylindrical shank intended for
standard chucks (quick-acting or toothed chucks with a key) with this
electro-pneumatic hammer. If you want to use the diamond-point bit,
switch the percussion off.
Chiselling
For chiselling swivel the operating mode switch (7) towards the symbol
If you want to set the chisel to the position suitable for work, swivel the
operating mode switch (7) towards the symbol and then rotate the
chisel in the requested direction.
As soon as the requested chisel position is reached, swivel the operating
mode switch (7) back towards the symbol
The chisel will be clamped automatically when the radial pressure is ap-
plied to it during the work (chiselling).
Changing Direction of Rotation
Use the rotation direction switch (8) only if the drilling hammer is
at rest.
Hold the rotation direction switch (8) from both sides.
Right rotation:
Switch the rotation direction switch (8) to „R".
Left rotation:
Switch the rotation direction switch (8) to „L".
Important! Rotate the rotation direction switch (8) always as far as the
stop on the motor bonnet until a light click is heard.
If the rotation direction switch is in the position between „R" and „L",
the drilling hammer cannot be started.
Tool Clamping and Removal
No key/wrench is needed for clamping the drilling and chiselling tools
in the clamping head (1).
Tool Clamping
Prior to commencing any intervention into the device, at first disconnect
the power cable from the socket.
Clean the tool shank and lubricate it moderately.
When inserting the tool into the clamping head, rotate the tool slowly
until it is clamped. Then check whether the tool is fixed reliably and can-
not fall out of the clamping head.
Pay attention not to damage the cap protecting the clamping head
from dust (2).
Replace the damaged cap for a new one immediately!
Tool Removal
Move the fixing collar (3) towards the device casing and remove the
tool.
Chisel Setting
Set the operating mode switch (7) to the position .
By hand rotation the chisel can be set to optional requested work posi-
tion.
Then swivel the operating mode switch (7) back to the position
The chisel will be clamped automatically when the radial pressure is ap-
plied to it during the work (chiselling).
Mounting of the chuck with the adapter
Prior to commencing any intervention into the device, at first disconnect
the power cable from the socket.
Clean the tool shank and lubricate it moderately.
When mounting the adapter (10) with the chuck (11) into the clamping
head (1), rotate the adapter slowly until the adapter shank is clamped.
Then check whether the chuck with the adapter is fixed reliably and can-
not fall out of the clamping head.
Removal of the chuck with the adapter
Move the fixing collar (3) towards the device casing and remove the
adapter (10) with the chuck (11).
Tips for practice
Do not drill on the places of possibly laid (underplaster) gas or water
pipes or el. wiring.
Check the place subject to drilling at first, e.g. by using a metal detector.
14
Use perfectly sharpened drills for metal drilling and adequate drills with
tungsten carbide bits for stone and concrete drilling.
Adapt the revolutions to the drilled material and to diameter of the used
drill.
Percussion drilling and chiselling
Use protective goggles and ear protectors.
Do not apply excessive force on the drilling hammer, its output will not
.
be increased this way anyhow.
The best result of chiselling will be reached when the material is re-
moved by small pieces.
When chiselling, always wear protective goggles and work with
the additional handle (9).
.
Check prior to starting the device, whether the operating mode switch
(7) is set and fixed in the requested position .
Drilling into tiles
Drill the tile at first slowly by applying the simple drilling. Percussion
drilling can be switched only after the tile is drilled through.
Screwing
The screwing bits can be clamped into the chuck (11) (accessories) or
directly into the adapter (9) (accessories).
Maintenance
Prior to commencing any intervention into the device, at first disconnect
the power cable from the socket.
Keep the vent holes (4) clean continuously.
Clean the plastic parts accessible from outside regularly by a clean rag
without using any detergents.
After long-time use in severe conditions the device should be brought
to the authorized service centre of the NAREX company for inspection
and thorough cleaning.
The device is equipped by self-detachable carbon brushes. If the carbon
brushes are worn, the motor will be switched off automatically. Rotor
damage is thus prevented. The carbon brushes must be replaced by the
authorized service centre.
After each ca 100 hours of work the device must be brought to the serv-
ice centre for regular maintenance guaranteeing permanently adequate
performance and high service life.
During regular maintenance the following operations shall be carried
out:
• Cleaning of motor bonnet, removal of deposits, impurities and
• Clamping hub cleaning.
• Check of piston rings for wear.
• Check of the carbon brushes for wear.
• Replacement of lubricants.
• Check of safety clutch for correct functioning.
Storage
.
The packed device can be stored in a dry unheated store room where
the temperature does not drop below -5°C.
Store the unpacked device in a dry store room where the temperature
does not drop below +5°C and where abrupt temperature changes are
prevented.

Environmental protection

El. tools, accessories and packaging should be collected for subsequent
recovery, recycling and environmentally sound disposal.
For EU countries only:
Do not dispose the el. tools as the home waste!
In conformity with the European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electri-
cal and electronic equipment and its implementation in national legisla-
tions the unusable dismantled el. tools should be collected for subse-
quent recovery, recycling and environmentally sound disposal.
