TOOL USE AND CARE
• Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
• Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model.
Accessories that may be suitable for one tool, may become hazardous when used on
another tool.
SERVICE
• Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or mainte-
nance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.
• When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the
Maintenance section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow
Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.

Operating Tips
CAUTION: Do not submerge the laser in water or any other fluid or damage to laser will occur.
• Use only new, high-quality, name brand batteries for best results.
• Ensure batteries are in good working condition.
• To extend battery life, turn laser off when not working with or marking the beam.
• To ensure the accuracy of your work, check to make sure your laser is calibrated. See Field
Calibration Check.
• Before attempting to use the laser, make sure it is positioned securely, on a smooth, flat
surface.
• Always mark the center of the beam created by the laser.
• Extreme temperature changes may cause movement of internal parts that can affect
accuracy. Check your accuracy often while working. See Field Calibration Check.
• If the laser has been dropped, check to make sure your laser is still calibrated. See Field
Calibration Check.
Introduction
The DW060 Floor Tile Laser allows you to generate two lines on the floor at 90° angles for
surface layout including tile, stone, brick, carpet and hardwood flooring. Unlike lines drawn from
chalk, the DW060 projects two laser beams over wet mastic or concrete. Precise angles of 90°,
67.5°, 45°, and 22.5° are easily established with the laser's built-in protractor.
FEATURES (Fig. 1, 2)
A. ON/OFF switch
B. Window
C. Angle reference notches (90°, 67.5°, 45°, and 22.5°)
D. Battery pack
Installing and Removing Batteries
CAUTION: Point lasers away from yourself and others. Laser may come on when inserting
battery.
CAUTION: The batteries should be removed when storing the laser more than 30 days or tool
damage may occur.
1. Turn the screws counterclockwise and remove the battery-housing door (Fig. 3).
2. Remove the battery pack (D) from the battery housing.
3. Install/remove the two C-size batteries.
NOTE: When installing the batteries, be sure to note the positive (+) and negative (–)
diagrams molded on the battery pack.
4. Insert the battery pack (D) into the battery housing.
5. Put the battery-housing door in place (Fig. 4). Insert the screws and turn them clockwise.
OPERATION
Setting Up and Using the Laser (Fig. 5–7)
1. Press the ON/OFF switch (A) to turn laser on.
2. Position the laser so that it's appropriate for your application needs.
3. If necessary, align the laser beam(s) with a reference point(s).
4. Use the laser beams as line references.
NOTE: When checking precision angles (90°, 67.5°, 45°, and 22.5°) or squaring walls, the
laser beams can be aligned with the walls or at an offset from them.
Establishing Common Angles (Fig. 8)
1. Press the ON/OFF switch (A) to turn laser on.
2. Place the laser over an existing reference chalk line so that the beam intersection (a) is
centered on the chalk line (Fig. 8.1).
3. Rotate the laser until the desired angle reference notch is aligned with the existing reference
chalk line. Make sure the beam intersection point (a) is still centered on the chalk line
(Fig. 8.2).

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
CAUTION: Do not submerge the laser in water or any other fluid or damage to laser will occur.
CLEANING WINDOWS
For maximum performance and accuracy always keep the windows clean. Use only a high-
quality glass cleaner with a soft cloth to clean the windows and the laser glasses.
EXTERIOR CLEANING
Exterior plastic parts may be cleaned with a damp cloth. Although these parts are solvent
resistant, NEVER use solvents. Use a soft, dry cloth to remove moisture from the laser
before storage.
Storage
When you're not using the laser, store it in its heavy-duty kitbox.
CAUTION: Do not store the laser in a wet case. If the case gets wet, let it dry before storing
the laser in it.
CAUTION: The batteries should be removed when storing the laser more than 30 days.
Field Calibration Check
Before each use, be sure to check the laser for signs of damage. If the laser has been dropped
or subjected to other rough treatment, it should be checked for accuracy.
Refer to Figures 9–11 for the location of the laser at each step and for the location of the marks
made at each step. All marks can be made on the floor by following the beam to the floor. All
marks are to the beam center.
1. Locate an area at least 30 ft. x 15 ft. (10 m x 5 m).
2. Make a mark (a) on the floor at one end of the room.
3. Place the laser so that the laser beams intersect over (a) with one of the beams pointing
toward the far end of the room (Fig. 9).
