The unit is supplied with a vertical confi guration.
In order to convert it to a horizontal confi guration,
remove the opening covers of the side piping.
With the same screws, install the covers on the
vertical piping openings with the insulation side
downwards.
The seals around the piping openings must be
adjusted.
RECEIVING AND INSTALLING THE UNIT
1st Step – Equipment Control
IDENTIFY THE UNIT – The model and serial
numbers of the unit are recorded in the nameplate
of the unit. Control this information with the
delivery papers and the working data.
INSPECT THE SHIPMENT – Check for possible
packaging damages, while the unit is still inside
the shipment pallet. If the unit seems to be
damaged or separated from its packaging, make
the transportation company officer inspect it
before taking it out from the package. File the
pertinent claim to the transportation company.
The manufacturer is not liable for any damages
occurred during transportation.
Check that all the items on the list are present.
If one of the parts is missing, please notify it
immediately the nearest Carrier Air Conditioning
offi ce.
Let all the parts in their original packages until the
installation in order to prevent losses or damages.
2nd Step - Provision of Roof Curb Unit Support
- Assembly the Roof Curb according to the attached
instructions. See Picture 1. Install the insulation,
wooden lath, etc. as shown. The piping must be
fastened to the Roof Curb, and not to the unit.
IMPORTANT: The union of the unit to the Roof
Curb or to the adapter is essential for a hermetic
sealing. Place the gasket with the Roof Curb or the
adapter as shown in Fig. 3. A misplaced gasket
can cause air leaks and an improper operation of
the unit.
28
The Roof Curb must be leveled. This is important
in order to allow the proper draining of the unit.
The unit level tolerances are described on Picture 3.
In case further information is required, refer to
the Installation Instructions of the Roof Curb
(Sub-base) or Horizontal Adapter.
When the Roof Curb accessory is not used as a
support of unit, it must be supported by the side
of greater length, with a MINIMUM of 3 points
of support (support dimension 102 x 102 mm,
noncombustible material) on each side.
MOUNTING ON SLAB – Provide a leveled concrete
slab, at least, 152 mm far from the unit cabinet. The
slab must have a thickness of 203 mm with 102 mm
above the level. Install a gravel base in front of the
outside air inlet in order to prevent the grass and
leaves from obstructing the air fl ow.
NOTE: The units with horizontal discharge must be
installed on the Roof Curb if required.
ASSEMBLE ON THE GROUND - The unit can be
installed either on a slab or directly on the ground
if allowed by the local codes. Position the unit
at the ground level, prepared with gravel for the
condensate discharge.
