3. INSTALLATION

3.1. Fixing

The pump should be installed on a solid, horizontal
base, secured by screws or bolts and using the
existing holes in the mount in order to avoid
unwanted noise and vibrations.
The pump should be protected from possible
flooding and receive dry ventilation.

3.2. Suction pipe assembly

The suction pipe must have the same diameter as
the pump suction pipe, or larger if the line is more
than 7 meters long, with a constant upward slope of
2% to avoid the formation of air pockets.
If the pump is installed in suction pipe mode, it must
be placed as close as possible to the water level,
so as to reduce the suction inlet distance and avoid
pressure losses. A negative geometrical suction
height of more than 2m is not recommended. It is
advisable to install a check valve at the base of the
suction.
The suction pipe must be submerged at least 30cm
below the dynamic water level.

3.3. Discharge pipe assembly

It is advisable to use pipes with at least the same
diameter as the discharge outlet to reduce pressure
losses in long, winding segments of the pipes.
The pipes must never rest their weight on the pump.
It is forbidden to install a check valve on the
discharge. Ensure that there are no water leaks in
the installation.
Use only Teflon tape to guarantee the tightness of
the discharge outlet. We recommend installing an
accumulator of at least 5 litres to make up for small
water losses in the installation, avoiding constantly
starting and stopping the pump.

3.4. Electrical connection

The electrical installation must have a
multipole isolator with minimum 3mm contact
openings. The protection of the system will be
based on a differential switch (Δfn = 30mA)
Connect the plug of the pump directly to a home
power outlet, suitably protected according to the
regulations in force in each country. Perform all
electrical connections according to Regulation IEC-
60364 (electrical installation in buildings) or the
regulation in force in the destination country.
Single-phase motors have thermal protection.

3.5. Pre-start checks

Ensure the voltage and frequency of the
supply corresponds to the values indicated
on the electrical data label.
Ensure that the pump shaft can rotate freely.
Completely fill the pump housing with water through
the priming plug. If you have installed a foot valve,
fill the suction pipe. Check that none of the gaskets
or connections has any leaks.
NEVER RUN THE PUMP DRY.
4. STARTING

4.1. Start-up and operation

Open all the gate valves on installation, for suction
and for discharge.
Connect the electric power supply. The voltage
indicator will light up (LINE).
The unit then starts automatically. While the pump
is operating, the running indicator will be lit (RUN).
During this operation, keep a water outlet faucet
open to purge any air existing in the installation.
Once the installation has been purged, close the
faucet; the unit will stop after 10 seconds. Only the
voltage indicator will remain lit (LINE).
If the pump is not properly primed or no water
supply is available at start-up, the (FAULT) led
indicator will light up after 10 seconds. To complete
the pump priming, press the (+) and (-) buttons
simultaneously; this will reinitiate the circuit and the
10 second timer.
The pump continues working with a water supply of
over 2 l/min; below this level, the control makes the
RUN led blink intermittently to indicate that water
flow is below minimum and the pump stops after
about 10 seconds.
If the motor does not start or does not extract water,
you are advised to find the anomaly from the list of
most common failures and the possible solutions
provided on the following pages.
