ASSEMBLY
Fitting the guard
Fig. 2a & 2b
WARNING: Switch off the grinder and disconnect it from the power point.
Depending on whether your operation is cutting or grinding, select the correct disc guard.
This tool is supplied with both grinding and cutting guards. Please take time to refer to the diagrams in this manual to ensure
you are using the correct guard for the task. Failure to use the right guard for operations could result in injury.
This guard has been specifically designed to offer extra protection in the rare event of disc or workpiece failure. Use of the
guard offers extra versatility in confined spaces.
Open the guard locking lever.
The two prominences on the guard should be aimed at the two grooves on the head of the angle grinder, and then press the
guard down and rotate it to the desired position. According to different operation, the guard can be rotated anti-clockwise direc-
tion from 90° to 210 ° for protection of the operator.
Twist the guard to position it appropriately, such that it best protects the operator from burning sparks. Secure the guard in place
with the locking guard lever.
NOTE: Check that the screw and the nut are sufficiently tight so that the guard cannot move. If necessary, you can tighten them
using the appropriate key.
Changing a disc

WARNING: Always ensure that the tool is switched off and unplugged from the power point before making any adjust-
ments, carrying out maintenance or changing a disc.
Turn the angle grinder on to its back, press the spindle lock button and rotate the spindle until it locks. Insert the pins of the
wrench into the holes in the outer flange and remove it and the old disc.
Do not remove the inner flange. Select the type of disc needed for the job on hand.
WARNING: Do not use a disc marked with a lower RPM than that of the max rated speed shown on the rating plate.
Clean the flanges and check the new disc.
Holding the angle grinder with the spindle facing upwards, check that the inner flange is on the spindle and correctly located.
The two machined flat sections must face the angle grinder and locate in the appropriate position on the spindle.
For grinding discs, ensuring that the grinding guard is fitted, screw on the outer flange with the protruding spigot section facing
the disc. The spigot section must locate with the hole in the disc.
For cutting discs, ensuring that the cutting guard is fitted, screw on the outer flange with the protruding spigot section facing
away from the disc.
Place the disc onto the spindle with the label facing the angle grinder. The hole in the disc should locate onto the spindle and fit
firmly into the spigot section of the inner flange.
Depending on whether your operation is cutting or grinding, select the correct disc guard. For the cutting operation, the disc type
are 41 and 42. For grinding operation,
