FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove plastic panel from underside of vehicle (3 large nuts). Release
lower edge of bumper (4 large nuts on underside of bumper). 2. Lower
exhaust as indicated in fig. 1. Leave the rubbers on the vehicle. Remove
heat shield to gain access to the chassis rails. Detach the heat shield.
The floor sealant and silencer material, as well as any anti-corrosion
wax, should be removed from the area around the contact surfaces.
Consult fig. 2.
2. Apply back plates A with spacers and M10x115 bolts, as indicated in
figures 3-5. Make sure the bolts are in the proper place. Fit the side-
plates C and D as shown in fig. 6 and position the nuts. Position the tow
bar between the bumper's inner fittings and back panel. Attach four
M10x45 (10.9) bolts there, including nuts.
3. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the torque indicated in the table. Start by
tightening the lowest nuts on the back panel to the indicated torque.
Next, tighten the uppermost nuts on the back panel to the indicated tor-
que. Then tighten the remaining bolts. Apply the template as shown in
fig. 7. (Note: for the RS bumperand Ghia / Titanium bumperand, use the
alternative template!) Make sure that the midline and the position line
are lined up. Saw out the marked holes. If needed, saw out the deflec-
tor as indicated in fig. 8.
4. Re-attach the bumper. Fit the ball hitch and socket plate using two bolts
((1x) M12x65/21.2 en (1x) M12x70/26.2 ) including nuts. Replace those
components removed in step 1. Tighten these components to the pro-
per torque.

NOTE:
* The dealer should be consulted for possible necessary adjustment(s)
"of the vehicle".
* Remove the insulating material from the contact area of the fitting
points.
* All bolts are quality 8.8 - nuts 8. or when mentioned in fitting instructions
10.9 / 10.
* Don't forget the spring- and plain washers.
* Consult your dealer for the maximum tolerated pull weight and ball
hitch pressure of your vehicle.
* It is recommendable to retighten all fixing bolts and nuts after the towbar
has been in use for some 1000 km/600 miles.
* Do not drill through brake-or fuellines.
* Remove (if present) the plastic caps from the spot welding nuts.
