ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION (DEALER)
For anything not expressly mentioned, refer to local regulations in force in each country. In Italy, refer to UNI
10683/2005, along with any regional or local health authority regulations. In the event of installation in a block of
flats, consult the property manager before installing.
CHECK FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DEVICES
The stove must NOT be installed in the same room as extractor fans or Type B heating equipment.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION CONTROL
(THE PLUG MUST BE IN AN ACCESSIBLE PLACE)
The stove is fitted with an electrical power cable for connection to a 230V 50 Hz socket, preferably protected with a
thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. Variations in tension in excess of 10% may damage the stove (if not already present,
install a suitable differential circuit breaker). The electrical system must comply with the law; in particular, make sure
the earthing circuit works correctly. The diameter of the power supply line must be suitable for the equipment's power
rating.
An inadequate earthing system can cause anomalies for which Edilkamin cannot be held liable.
FIRE SAFETY DISTANCES AND LOCATION
The stove must be level for it to work correctly.
Check the floor's load-bearing capacity.
The stove must be installed in compliance with the following safety conditions:
- minimum distance at the sides and back from medium-hazard flammable materials: 40 cm
- easily flammable materials must not be placed less than 80 cm from the front of the stove
If it is impossible to comply with the distances specified above, technical/building measures must be taken to avoid all
fire risks.
If the smoke outlet pipe is connected to walls made of wood or other flammable materials it must be suitably insulated.
AIR INTAKE
An air intake with a diameter of at least 80 cm2 must be placed behind the stove to ensure that it receives enough air
for combustion.
SMOKE OUTLET
The stove must have its own smoke outlet (it must not discharge into flues shared with other devices).
Smoke leaves the stove through the 8 cm diameter pipe at the back.
The smoke outlet must be connected to the outside using suitable steel pipes, without obstructions.
The pipe must be air-tight sealed. To seal the pipes, and insulate them if necessary, materials capable of withstanding at
least 300°C must be used (high-temperature silicone or mastic).
The only horizontal section allowed may be up to 2 m long. Up to two 90° bends may be included.
If the smoke outlet does not end in a flue, a vertical section and a wind guard are essential (refer to UNI 10683/2005).
The vertical duct may be indoor or outdoor. If the smoke outlet is outdoors it must be properly insulated.
If the smoke duct ends in a flue, the latter must be approved for use with solid fuel and if it is more than 150 mm in
diameter it must be adapted by ducting and sealing the smoke outlet from the brickwork.
All sections of the smoke duct must be inspectable. If it is fixed, inspection openings must be provided for cleaning.
Edilkamin supplies pipes suitable for installation (optional) through its dealers.
Possible installations are shown on the following page.
