OPERATING PRINCIPLES

SOLEIL - TANIA - POLARIS stoves (standard or ductable
versions) use wooden pellets as fuel, the combustion of which
is managed electronically. They operate as follows.
The letters refer to illustration 1. The fuel (pellets) is taken from
the storage hopper (A) and delivered to the combustion cham-
ber (D) by a screw feeder B) driven by a gearmotor (C).
The pellets are ignited by hot air produced by a heating element
(E), which is drawn into the combustion chamber by a centri-
fugal fan (F). The combustion smoke produced is drawn out of
the firebox by the same centrifugal fan (F), and expelled from
the vent (G) at the bottom rear of the stove.
Heating air follows two separate directions in the left and right
hand parts of the stove (Illustration 2, Page 28).
Air enters the upper part of the right hand side of the stove and
remains in the hollow space at the rear of the firebox where it
is heated before coming out into the room from the upper front
grille (H), ref. circuit A (Illustration 2, Page 28).
Air enters the lower part of the left hand side of the stove and
remains (travelling upwards, then downwards) in the hollow
space at the rear of the firebox where it is heated before coming
out into the room from the lower front grille (I) or (ducted ver-
sion) from the relevant rear ducting vent. The air can be con-
veyed from the vent to an adjacent room (L), ref. circuit A
(Illustration 2, Page 28), by connecting suitable piping. Air
enters the upper part of the right hand side of the stove and
remains (travelling upwards, then downwards) in the hollow
space at the rear of the firebox where it is heated before coming
out into the room from the upper front grille. The amount of
fuel and the smoke extraction/combustion air supply are con-
trolled by an electronic circuit board with Fire Control softwa-
re in order to achieve highly efficient fuel consumption and
low emissions. All operating stages are managed and displayed
on the mimic panel (M) located on the upper front of the stove.
The main stages can also be managed by remote control. A
serial port is found at the back of the stove (optional cable: code
621240) to be connected to devices that allow remote ignition
(e.g. remote telephone, local thermostat).
The internal structure of the stoves is made completely of cast
iron.
Two versions are available:
• standard;
• ductable.

SAFETY INFORMATION

SOLEIL - TANIA - POLARIS stoves are designed
to heat the room they are installed in by radiation and by
air movement from the front grilles, using heat generated
from automatic pellet combustion in the firebox; an adja-
cent room can also be heated by the movement of air that
can be ducted from the vent at the back.
The only risks that may derive from the use of the
stoves are linked with non-compliance with installation
instructions, direct contact with live electrical parts (insi-
de) or with the fire or hot parts (glass, pipes and hot-air
outlet) or the introduction of foreign substances.
Only use wooden pellets for fuel.
The stoves are fitted with safety devices to turn them
off in the event of malfunction. This must be allowed
to occur without interference.
To operate correctly, the stoves must be installed in
compliance with the instructions given on this sheet
and the door must not be opened during operation:
combustion is managed automatically and no manual
operations are necessary.
Never put foreign substances in the firebox or pellet
hopper.
Do not use flammable products to clean the smoke
duct (pipe connecting the smoke outlet vent to the flue).
Firebox and hopper components must only be cleaned
using a vacuum cleaner.
The glass must be cleaned when COLD using a suitable
product (e.g. GlassKamin) and a cloth.
Do not clean when hot.
Stoves must be installed and lit by an authorised dealer in
accordance with the instructions given on this sheet.
During stove operation, the outlet pipes and door reach
high temperatures.
Do not leave objects that cannot withstand heat close to
the stove.
NEVER use liquid fuels to light the stove or rekindle
the embers.
Do not block ventilation openings in the room where
the stove is installed, or the air inlets on the stove
itself.
Do not wet the stove or go near the electrical parts with
wet hands.
Do not fit reducers on the smoke outlet pipes.
Stoves must be installed in rooms equipped with
fire-prevention precautions and all of the services
(supply and discharges) required for the equipment to
operate correctly and safely.
