Protection
All residual current circuit breakers in the DS 941-DS 951.DS971
class AC-A series comply with CEI EN 61009 and are insensitive to
transitory current surges up to 250 A peak with wave-forms 8/20 µsec
(VDE 0432 T2).
The residual current operated circuit breaker with overload protection
provides:
- residual current protection against electrocution
- protection against overloads
- protection against short-circuits
- protection against fires.
This circuit breaker meets the following protection levels (CEI EN
60529):
IPXXB/IP2X on the front side: for surface mounting, the terminal zone
must be protected by covers.
IPXXD/IP4X when mounted in suitable holders or panels.
For installation of RCBO'S in industrial or in particular environmental
conditions, the proper IP safety level should be achieved during
installation by employing appropriate enclosure meeting CEI 64-
8/IEC 364 standards.
Note: The circuit breaker does not eliminate the sensation felt from
an electric shock, but limits the period that the current flows
through the human body to such an extent that the possibility
of a lethal effect is reduced to a negligible amount.
