ADDING CHARCOAL/WOOD DURING COOKING
Additional charcoal and/or wood may be re quired to maintain or increase cooking tem per a ture.
1.
Stand back and carefully open grill lid. Use caution since flames can flare-up when fresh air suddenly comes in
contact with fire.

Wearing oven mitts/gloves, remove food and cooking grates to access charcoal grate.
WARNING: Never add charcoal lighting fluid to hot or even warm coals as flashback may occur causing
severe burns.

When charcoal is burning strong again, wear oven mitts/gloves and carefully return charcoal grate to desired
cooking level. Replace food and cooking grates. Ensure that no ashes, coals or embers have fallen to the ground
as a fire may start. As a precaution, completely wet beneath and around grill with water to extinguish any fallen
ashes, coals or embers.

Close the grill lid. Allow food to continue cooking.

Always allow grill and all components to cool before handling.
•
Never leave coals and ashes in grill unattended. Make sure coals and ashes are completely extinguished
before leaving unattended.
•
Before grill can be left unattended, remaining coals and ashes must be removed from grill. Use caution
to protect yourself and property. Place re main ing coals and ashes in a non-combustible metal
container and completely saturate with water. Allow coals and water to remain in metal container
24 hours prior to disposing.
•
Extinguished coals and ashes should be placed a safe distance from all struc tures and combustible
materials.
•
With a garden hose, completely wet surface beneath and around the grill to extinguish any ashes, coals
or embers which may have fallen during the cooking or cleaning process.
•
Cover and store grill in a protected area away from children and pets.

TRANSPORTING AND STORAGE:
•
Never move a grill when it is hot or when objects are on the cooking surfaces.
•
Make sure that cylinder valve is shut off. After moving the grill check that all gas connections are
free of leaks. Refer to instructions for Leak Testing.
•
DO NOT store a spare LP gas cylinder (filled or empty) under or near the grill.
•
Never store flammable liquids or spray canisters under or near the grill.
•
DO NOT extinguish grease fires using water.
•
If the outdoor cooking gas appliance is not in use, the gas must be turned off at the supply cylinder.
•
Storage of an outdoor cooking gas appliance indoors is permissible only if the cylinder is
disconnected and removed from the outdoor cooking gas appliance.
•
Cylinders must be stored outdoors out of reach of children and must not be stored in a building,
garage or any other enclosed area.
•
When removing the grill from storage, spider webs or other debris may be blocking the burners. See
"Burner Assembly/Maintenance" under Proper Care and Maintenance.
