FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Lower the rearmost silencer. Remove the heat shield, if fitted. Saw a
section out of the underside of the bumper as shown in Figure 1. Fit the
mounting plates A and B to the outside of the left and right chassis using
four M10 x 1.25 x 30 bolts with spring and plain washers and nuts.
Tighten up finger-tight.
2. Position the towbar between the plates just fitted and fix with four M10
x 35 bolts with spring washers and nuts. Tighten finger-tight. Fit the tow-
bar to the chassis on the left as shown in the sketch using two M10 x
1.25 x 30 bolts with spring and plain washers. Fit one M10 x 1.25 x 70
bolt with 25 mm dia. X 12, L = 39 mm distance tube and spring washer
at point C. Fit one M12 x 65/21.2 bolt with filler plates, plain washer and
self-locking nut in the towing eye. Position the ball hitch together with
socket plate as shown in the sketch and fix with one M12 x 70/26.2 bolt
and one M12 x 65/21.2 bolt with plain washers and self-locking nuts.
3. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the torque shown in the Table. Replace the
heat shield, if fitted. Fix the heat shield at point D using one M6 x 30 bolt
with 25 mm dia, x 6.5 x 1.5 carroserie washer and spring washer.
Tighten up to the relevant torque. If hole D is not in the heat shield, then
you will have to drill a 6.5 mm diameter hole at point D. Replace the rear
silencer.

NOTE:
* The dealer should be consulted for possible necessary adjustment(s)
"of the vehicle".
* Remove the insulating material from the contact area of the fitting
points.
* All bolts are quality 8.8 - nuts 8. or when mentioned in fitting instructions
10.9 / 10.
* Don't forget the spring- and plain washers.
* Consult your dealer for the maximum tolerated pull weight and ball
hitch pressure of your vehicle.
* It is recommendable to retighten all fixing bolts and nuts after the towbar
has been in use for some 1000 km/600 miles.
* Do not drill through brake-or fuellines.
* Remove (if present) the plastic caps from the spot welding nuts.
