2.1.2 Inspection limit switch emulation

The Position Supervisor Unit (PSU01) allows monitoring the protected area in case of reduced
shaft head / shaft pit according to EN81-21, 5.5.3.4 or 5.7.3.4 (inspection limit switch).
This function is represented by an additional virtual limit switch positioned at a fixed distance of 1.2 m
from the limit switch. One is present for shortened top buffers and one for shortened bottom buffers.
These new limit switches are called "inspection limit switches".

2.1.3 Safety circuit for door bypass

The PSU01 provides a safety circuit for bypassing the door contacts according to EN81-20: 5.12.1.4.
The PSU01 bypasses, on request, the door contacts of a determined stop
• for early door opening
• for car level control and
• for a fast start.

2.1.4 Unintended Car Movement (UCM)

The PSU01 provides protection against the unintentional movement of the elevator car according
to EN81-20 safety function 5.6.7. The set door zone (see 2.1.2) is used as the UCM zone. This also
exclusively refers to the length of the zone. The UCM zones are always active and cannot be selecti-
vely switched.
The door zone emulation (Port X6) allows the use of an optional external UCM unit.
The position of the inspection limit switches is fixed at 1.2 m from the
limit switch and cannot be moved.
The inspection limit switches are optional and can be disabled during
the first configuration.
When the lower inspection limit switch is enabled, it may happen that
the car, when operated by the installer standing on the car roof, stops
in the inspection limit switch area, even though the lowest stop has not
been reached (1.2 m from the limit switch).
An external safety circuit for bypassing doors is expressly forbidden.
