2.1.5 Time-delayed control switch

The PSU01 provides the time delay control circuit function for shortened buffers according to EN81-
20: 5.12.1.3.
This function is represented by an additional speed-dependent virtual limit switch, which can be
positioned freely once (using CANopen). These new limit switches will be called „time-delayed limit
switches" hereafter.
There is one time-delayed limit switch for shortened top buffers and one for shortened bottom buffers.

2.1.6 Overspeed pre-tripping

The PSU01 provides the overspeed pre-tripping function (EN81-20: 5.6.2.2.1) or upward travel over-
speed (EN81-20: 5.6.6) function and opens the safety circuit in case of such a event.

2.1.7 Door zone emulation

The PSU01 provides the door zone via two redundant channels. It thus simulates door magnets, which
can be omitted at the assembly.
As standard, all door zones are simulated by the Evaluation Unit as soon as the elevator travels
slower than 0.8 m/s.

Since the UCM detection is permanently active in the PSU01, the
PSU01 also triggers in the case of an UCM event, and not only the
external unit. Accordingly, both devices must be reset.
The control for the brake element of the protection device is included
in the PSU01, but the brake element of the protection device itself is
not a part of his safety circuit or of this description.
It must be provided on site in the elevator plant. The regulations ap-
plicable to this element must be complied with.
The brake elements used for the protection device must be devices
tested in compliance with the provisions of EN81-20, 5.6.7 and which
are able to stop the elevator within the prescribed distance and delay.
A car level control at a speed exceeding 0.3 m/s is always detected by
the PSU01 as a UCM event, independently of the UCM zone.
The tripping speed is set to 1 m/s and cannot be modified.
If necessary, the position of the time-delayed limit switch must be
shifted.
This function is not part of the SIL3 certification and does not replace
the measures prescribed in EN81.
