OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CHARGING CLIPPER USING CHARGING STAND
The AC adapter is intended for use with Andis model MLC lithium-ion clipper
battery with a rated capacity of 4.5V
from the carton. Plug the AC adapter into a 120V AC outlet, or according to your
local power standards. Plug the adapter cord into the receptable on the back of the
charging stand (Figure A). Place clipper in the charging stand. The ON/OFF switch
on the clipper must be in the OFF position for the battery to charge. The clipper
indicator light will fade in and out blue while charging. Note that the clipper can be
removed at any time during the charging cycle without harming the clipper or
battery. Once the battery is fully charged, the clipper indicator light (Figure B) will
turn solid blue.
The clipper has not been charged at the factory. Please charge the clipper for
2 hours before the first use for maximum performance.
You can keep the clipper plugged into the charging stand or adapter when not
in use. The charging stand or adapter will maintain the battery at full charge.
We recommend that the charging stand or adapter be unplugged if the clipper
won't be used for seven or more days.
FAILURE TO CHARGE
1. Make sure voltage is present at the wall outlet (confirm with an appliance you
know is working).
2. Make sure on/off switch on the clipper is OFF.
3. Check to make sure adapter cord is plugged firmly into clipper or charging
stand. Twist the adapter cord slightly to ensure good electrical connection.
4. If failure to charge still exists, return clipper to Andis or an Andis authorized
service station for examination and repair or replacement.
CORDED OPERATION
If the clipper powers OFF in the middle of a clipping job, the power cord can be
attached to continue use in corded operation. Plug the adapter cord directly into
the bottom of the clipper (Figure B). When the clipper is running with the adapter
cord attached, the clipper indicator light will remain solid blue ON to indicate
strong power, even if the battery is not fully charged. The clipper will charge at a
slower rate while in use with the cord attached.
