Loading the Dishwasher

For best dishwashing results, follow these loading guidelines. Features and appearance of racks and silverware
baskets may vary from your model.
Upper
Rack
Bottle Wash
Theupper rackis primarilyfor glasses, c ups,and
saucers. F orbestwash performance, t ilt cupand
glassopenings toward the centerof the rack.Other
itemssuchas pots,pans,and platesmay be placed
in the upper rack.Thisisalsoa secureplacefor
dishwasher-safe plasticitems. T heupper rackcan
be usedfor odd sizedutensils. S aucepans,mixing
bowls,and othersimilarlyshapeditemsshouldbe
placedface downfor bestwash performance. The
dishwasherhasa hiddenheater, s o dishwasher s afe
plasticitemscan be placedin the lowerrack.
IMPORTANT: Ensurethat itemsdo not protrude
throughthe bottomof the rackor silverwarebasket
wherethey will blockthe rotationof the middlespray
arm.Thiscouldresultin noiseduringoperationand/
or poorwash performance.
IMPORTANT: Ensureitemsin the upperrack do not
interferewith the 3rd Rack(onsomemodels) when
loadingand unloading.

The Bottle Wash systemisthe ideallocationto
positionbaby bottles and tall sports bottles.The
Bottle Wash clips hold bottles with smallopenings
in placesowaterjets are directedinsidethe bottles
to cleanhardto reachareas. C lipscan be installedor
removedby simplyslippingthe clipopening overthe
topof the nozzle.

Theupperrack allows2"of adjustmentup or down
to accommodatelargeitems.Theupperrack may
be loweredby pushingthe longflaps on eachsideof
the rack.Thiswillallowyou to lowerthe rack(seefig.
UpperRack). To raisethe rack,lift up on the rack until
the racklocksin place.
CAUTION: Aloaded upper
rack may be heavier than anticipated. To
prevent minor injury or damage to the
contents, do not raise or lower the upper
rack after the rack is loaded.
Toadd flexibility in loading,the utility shelf (on
somemodels)may be placedin the up or down
position.The shelf may also be usedto secure
stemwaresuch as wine glasses. B ecausethese
stemwareitems come in various sizes, s lowly push
the rack in to ensurethe itemsdo not bump into
the edgesof the dishwasher, w hich may cause
damageto the items.
Thefold down tines (onsome models)provide
flexibility for extra-large and hard-to-fit items.
Thetine rows can be adjusted to a vertical or
lay-down position.
