Use
6.1
General
The equipment of a rescue system must always be ready for use. That means the equipment must be
checked and inspected directly after use before it is stored.
WARNING
Make sure you are up to date on all safety regulations and that you have mastered the use of
all equipment of the system you are going to work with.
Never try to connect or disconnect hydraulic couplers if the equipment is being used or if the
system is under pressure.

Before use

6.2.1
Oil flow back to pump
Make sure the oil tank of the pump is not filled completely. When opening the tool, it returns oil to the
pump. Refer to 3.4 for the quantity of oil that goes back to the pump.
6.2.2
Connect the hydraulic hose(s)
Connect the hydraulic hose(s) to the tool and the pump. Refer to chapter 5.2.
Start the pump.
6.3

During use

6.3.1
General
The plungers open and close quickly until they encounter resistance. Now the pump will build up the
required pressure and continue with spreading, pulling or crushing.
DANGER
Danger of crushing or pinching parts of the body. Note that hydraulic tools have an enormous
power, use only genuine Holmatro accessories and no other fasteners or chains
6.3.2
Chrushing
Open the pinching arms.
Position the crusher with opened arms perpendicular to the object to be crushed (refer to Fig. 8).
Close the arms.
WARNING
Stop immediately if the arms are out of true or if the tool is no longer perpendicular to the
object to be crushed. Danger of serious damage to the tool and serious injury.
6.3.3
Change tools
To change a tool during use:
Disconnect the hoses from the tool in use. Refer to chapter 5.3.
Connect the hoses to the other tool. Refer to chapter 5.2.
