GENERAL INFORMATION
During coupling and uncoupling make sure the
D
baler and/or the tractor are in a stable position. If
required, use the suitable wheel wedges sup-
plied with the machine.
Do not stand between tractor and baler during
D
coupling/uncoupling operations, if the tractor is
operating.
DANGER: risk of shocks, cuts and trapping in
E
the steering shaft and the feeding parts.

To assemble and disassemble the universal
D
G
joint, the tractor engine must be switched off.

Carefully read the instruction booklet of the uni-
D
versal joint, supplied with it.
S
H
Never exceed the PTO rpm (540 rpm).
D
Always release the PTO when the universal joint
D
makes a too wide angle or when it isn't used.

ADJUSTMENTS AND REFILLINGS
Before carrying out the following operations:
D
-- twine or net threading or replacement;
-- lubrication;
-- pick--up height adjustment;
-- belt tension adjustment;
-- or any other adjustment procedure;
strictly comply with the following procedure:
DANGER: risk of limb squeezing, cutting,
trapping and injury due to the operations on
the baler when the parts are moving.
1.
Release the tractor PTO.
2.
Switch the tractor engine off.
3.
Engage the tractor parking brake.
4.
Remove the keys from the dashboard.
5.
Wait until all moving parts have come to a
complete stop. If the baler is separate, make
sure it is in a stable position: if required, use
also the supplied stop wedges.
DANGER: risk of squeezing due to machine
instability.

If the tailgate is open, engage the suitable safety
D
devices (see fig. 23). The safety engagement /
release operation must be made out of the tail-
gate closing area.
DANGER: risk of squeezing due to the tailga-
te accidental closing.

FIELD OPERATIONS
Do not use the machine in case of unsuitable
D
crop or in case of adverse weather conditions. It
is better to stop working temporarily before oper-
ating in such conditions.
No intervention should be made on the machine
D
while it is operating or moving.
Strictly comply with the following procedure:
1.
Release the tractor PTO.
2.
Switch the tractor engine off.
3.
Engage the tractor parking brake.
4.
Remove the keys from the dashboard.
5.
Wait until all moving parts have come to a
complete stop.
Before operating the machine, check that all
D
guards are correctly fitted and locked, in particu-
lar the PTO shaft.
Do not work next to the baler wearing loose cloth-
D
ing that could get trapped in the machine moving
parts, always keeping at a safety distance.
Do not operate or move the baler unless correctly
D
seated in the tractor operator's seat.
No one can get on the baler or the tractor when
D
they are moving.
Before engaging the PTO, make sure that no
D
people or objects are standing nearby. Sound the
tractor horn three times to inform bystanders.
Do not try and remove the twine from the bale
D
chamber when the baler is operating.
