WARNING! An electric shock can be fatal. Before opening up the charger

Unplug charger from the mains

Disconnect battery connection

Put up an easy-to-understand warning sign to stop anybody inadvertently
switching it back on again

Using a suitable measuring instrument, check to make sure that electri-
cally charged components (e.g. capacitors) have been discharged
CAUTION! Inadequate PE conductor connections can cause serious injury
and damage. The housing screws provide a suitable PE conductor connection
for earthing (grounding) the housing and must NOT be replaced by any other
screws which do not provide a reliable PE conductor connection.
Mains fault - mains voltage outside the tolerance range
Check mains conditions
Short circuit on the charging terminals or charging cable. Short circuit
detection on
Check charging cables, contacts and battery poles
Battery overvoltage or undervoltage
Select correct charging characteristic/function, or incorrect battery voltage
set
Charging cables not connected to correct terminals. Reverse polarity
protection has tripped.
Connect battery poles correctly
Ambient temperature too high. Overtemperature protection active
Allow charger to cool down. Charging will recommence automatically once
the charger has cooled sufficiently. If not, have it checked by a workshop.
