CAUTION! Bear in mind that the altitude of the
place of installation and the water temperature
may reduce the suction head of the pump.

5.2 Hydraulic connections

• With a flexible, reinforced hose or a rigid screw.
• The diameter of the suction pipe must never be
smaller than the one of the pump.
• Limit the horizontal length of the suction pipe
and avoid all features which cause head losses
(taps, bends ...).
• Air must in no event enter the suction pipe.
• Use supports with collars for rigid pipes so that
the pump does not bear the weight of the pipes.
• The setting up of a strainer (cross section max.
1 mm) avoids any damage to the pump in the
case of suction of stones and foreign particles.
• Nominal diameter of the suction/delivery ports
(threaded): G1" (26-34).
• Seal the pipes carefully with adequate products.
• If the pump is in suction mode, immerse the
strainer (minimum depth 200 mm). If necessary
ballast the flexible pipe.
• The mounting of a dry-running protection device
avoids any dry-running of the pump.

5.3 Electrical connection

DANGER! Connections and checks should be car-
ried out by a qualified electrician in compliance
with current local standards.
The power supply of the pump must include a
circuit with a residual current device acting at no
more than 30 mA.
• See rating plate of the motor for electrical cha-
racteristics (frequency, voltage, nominal current).
• The single-phase motors have an integrated
thermal protection.
• For connection with the mains network use a
cable which conforms with the applicable stan-
dards:
3 conductors (2 phases + earth).
• For connection with the feeder system use a
cable which conforms with the standards in
force.
• Means for disconnection must be incorporated
in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring
standards.
DANGER! Damaged cords must only be replaced
by qualified electricians.
DO NOT FORGET TO CONNECT TO EARTH.

DANGER! A connection error would damage the
motor. The power cable must never touch the
pipe or the pump; make sure that it is sheltered
from any humidity.
6. Commissioning
CAUTION! The pump must never be operated in a
dry state, not even briefly.

6.1 Filling and venting

Pump in suction mode - FIG. 1
• Make sure that all accessories connected to the
pump discharge are open (taps, valves, spray
pistols).
• Open the pump's discharge valve (3).
• Open the pump's suction valve (2).
• Unscrew the filling plug (4).
• Insert a funnel into the port and completely fill
the pump.
• Screw the plug all the way back in.
• If the discharge pipe is a hose, hold it upright to
a height of approximately 0.5 m until the pump
is primed.
6.2 Operation
CAUTION! The pump must not be operated at
zero flow (discharge valve closed) for more than
5 minutes.
We recommend a minimum flow of 800 l/h (13 l/
min.).
7. Maintenance
No special maintenance during operation; always
keep the pump and the motor perfectly clean.
In the case of a longer shutdown and when there
is no frost, it is the best not to drain the pump.
• If the pump is exposed to frost, it should be
drained by removing plug (5) and plug (4).
• Screw the two plugs back in without tightening.
Remember to fill the pump before restarting it.
Motors without grease fittings
The bearings are greased for life and thus do not
require lubrication.
Mechanical seal
The mechanical seal does not require any main-
tenance during operation. It must never operate
dry.
