PETROL CHAIN SAW FOR TREE SERVICE USER MANUAL
Fig. 38
8.11 FUEL MIX ADJUSTMENT
ENGINE "IDLE" SPEED ADJUSTMENT
SCREW [T]
- The fuel of your chain saw has been factory
set on standard values (fig.21).
- The screw [T]: keeps the butterfly valve in a
slightly open position in order to adjust the en-
gine "IDLE " speed at the correct rotation speed.
WARNING DANGER!! A high "idle"
speed adjustment can cause the
operation of the centrifugal clutch and
therefore operate the cutting chain even if
the throttle lever is released.
- The engine idle speed is increased by turning
the screw clockwise.
- See the technical data table (page 23).
- Screw [L]: adjusts the carburation for the idle
speed and acceleration.
- Screw [H]: adjusts the carburation for the high
operating speed.
As the adjustment operation requires
a technical background as well as spe-
cial technical equipment, please contact an AP-
PROVED SERVICE CENTRE.

9. SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE

DANGER!! Do not carry out any
checking, maintenance and repair
operations with the engine running.
9.1 CHAIN
See paragraph "8.10 CHAIN"

9.2 GUIDE BAR

- Periodically clean the chain sliding groove and
the oil ports.
- Lubricate the pinion with bearing grease.
- Turn the guide bar upside down (with any main-
tenance operation) to ensure a consistent wear
and tear.

9.3 AIR FILTER

A blocked air filter reduces the engine perform-
ance, the cutting efficiency, and increases fuel
consumption.
- Cutting dry wood and working in a dusty envi-
ronment require the filter to be cleaned more
often.
a) Remove the filter cover (fig. 22) by unscrew-
ing the knob.
- Lift the filter (fig.23).
- Separate the two halves (fig.24) by using a
screwdriver (if required).
- Blow with compressed air from the inside to
the outside.
b) Replace the filter if damaged (warped and/or
split).

9.4 FUEL FILTER

Can be removed (through the refuelling hole fig.1
item 13) by using a hook and by holding it with
long nose pliers.
Replace the filter at least once a year.
- Use a genuine filter.
