5.3 Operation of the tuner

5.3.1 Storing stations

For storing stations, 60 station numbers are
available in the FM range and 40 station num-
bers in the AM range.
A – Automatic station scanning and storage
Due to the automatic function, station scanning
and storage is quick and easy. The tuner will
scan the reception range selected and will auto-
matically store the stations received one after
the other.
1) Press the button BAND (21) to switch to FM
reception (indication FM).
2) Keep the button ASM (25) pressed until figures
start appearing on the frequency indication.
3) Once the tuner has switched to the station on
station number 1, all stations will be stored
automatically. To recall other stations see
chapter 5.3.2.
4) Press the button BAND to switch to AM
reception (indication AM) and repeat the pro-
cedure for the AM stations.
B – Manual storage of stations
1) Press the button BAND (21) to switch to FM
reception (indication FM).
2) If you know the frequency of the desired sta-
tion, enter it with the remote control. If you do
not know it, proceed with step 3.
To enter the received frequency, press the
button DIRECT (38), then enter the fre-
quency with the numerical keys (37). Finally
press the button DIRECT once again.

After entering the frequency, proceed with
step 4.
Note: If you enter a frequency outside the reception
range, the display will briefly show
3) To find a certain station, use the station scan-
ning. To start scanning, keep the button TUN-
ING DOWN or UP (19) pressed until figures
start appearing on the frequency indication.
(On the remote control, these buttons are
only marked DOWN and UP.)
Press the button DOWN to start scanning
downwards.
Press the button UP to start the scanning
upwards.
Scanning will stop at the next station. Restart
scanning as often as necessary to find the
desired station.

4) For fine tuning, briefly press the button TUN-
ING DOWN or UP (19) for stepwise increase
or decrease of the frequency. (On the remote
control, these buttons are only marked DOWN
and UP.)
5) To store the station, always press any further
button within 5 seconds, otherwise the fol-
lowing steps must be repeated:
a) Press the button STORE (29) on the unit
or MEM (29) on the remote control. The
field MEMO will flash on the display.
b) Select the number for the station to be
stored:
Either stepwise with the buttons STATION
(20) [on the remote control, these buttons
are marked M-DOWN and M-UP] or
by direct selection of the station number
with the buttons 1 – 5 (27) and +5 (28) on
the unit or with the buttons 1 – 10 / 0 (37)
and +10 (41) on the remote control.

Note: The display will show the station numbers
1 – 18 below the field «CH». The display will
show the numbers starting from 19 only briefly
before indicating the received frequency.
c) Press the button STORE or MEM to com-
plete the storing procedure.
6) To store further stations in the FM range,
repeat steps 2 to 5. Then press the button
BAND to switch to AM reception (indication

AM) and store the AM stations.
5.3.2 Recalling stored stations
1) Press the button BAND (21) to select the
range (FM or AM) of the station desired.
2) Enter the number under which the station has

3) Alternatively, recall the stations with the but-
tons STATION (20). [On the remote control,

previous station number or press the button
UP to select the next station number.
4) With a broadcast in stereo, the display will
indicate «ST». To switch between stereo re -
ception and mono reception, press the button
MO / ST (40) on the remote control.

5.3.3 Automatic switch-off of the tuner
Press the button SLEEP (23) to set a time
between 90 and 10 minutes after which the tuner
will switch off.
1) Press the button SLEEP repeatedly until the
desired time for switching off the tuner
appears on the display (26). Each time you
press the button, the time will decrease by
10 minutes.
Two seconds after the last actuation of the
button, the display will switch back to the
received frequency of the station adjusted.
The field SLEEP will appear on the display to
indicate activation of the switch-off function.
After the set time, the tuner will switch off.
2) To switch it on again, press the button
SLEEP. The display will briefly show "90"
(minutes) and then the received frequency.
Now press the button SLEEP once again so
that the field SLEEP will disappear from the
display, otherwise the switch-off function will
be activated again.
Note: To deactivate the switch-off function before the
set time has elapsed, press the button SLEEP so that
the field SLEEP will disappear from the display.
