Pilot Light Assembly

1. Loosen the wing screw at the pilot assembly.
2. Slide the pilot shield up, exposing the pilot
bracket, pilot orifice, and thermocouple.
3. Using a soft brush or compressed air, clean
the pilot stack (pop-riveted on inside of pilot
shield), of dust and dirt, paying attention to
the throat of the pilot stack and the flame
spreader at the top of the stack.
4. Brush off the top of the pointed pilot orifice,
making sure dust and dirt have not plugged
orifice hole.
5. Servicing the pilot orifice:
-- Loosen the compression fitting and remove
the pilot tube from the inlet of the pilot orifice
See Fig. 20.
-- Remove the pilot orifice from the pilot bracket.
-- Hold the orifice up to the light to see if the hole
in the orifice is open. If not, clean with air.
-- See Fig. 21 for comparison. Ensure the proper
pilot orifice is installed for the fuel being used.

Prevent damage to the gasket located between
the pilot assembly and the burner. Damage will
cause a pilot outage to occur. Ensure the gasket
is properly positioned on burner before reassem-
bly of the pilot assembly. See Fig. 22.
