Points to note before switching on the unit

The unit must be positioned so that the user can always
hear or see the alarms generated by the unit and react
accordingly if a fault develops.
Extinguish all naked lights, e.g. cigarettes, candles, etc. –
major fire hazard.
The unit must be allowed to warm up to room
temperature if it has been stored at temperatures of less
o
than 10 C, otherwise it may malfunction.
The unit must not be operated at ambient temperatures
o
of more than 40 C, otherwise it may overheat and
become defective.
Step 5

Switching on the unit

1 Press the ON/OFF button on the front panel until it
engages. The unit is now switched on.
2 The red alarm lamp lights up briefly and a short alarm tone
sounds.
3 The green lamp lights up.
The unit starts after approx. 10 seconds.
A continuous alarm tone will sound if the Permox SilentCare
has been switched on without plugging in the mains cable.
Then:
Plug in the mains cable, the alarm tone ceases.
A steady oxygen concentration is output by the unit
approx. 10 minutes after switching on.
Step 6
Setting oxygen flow
4 Set the oxygen flow prescribed by the doctor via the rotary
knob on the humidifier unit.
5 Read off the flow on the flowmeter, in the middle of the ball.
The flow reading must be checked regularly during
operation – so that incorrect settings can be corrected.
