Push a piece of wire approximately 20 cm long
(17) into the dust extraction channel (16) and clear
the blockage (18).
It may also be possible to clear the blockage (18)
by applying compressed air.
10 Troubleshooting
The "cling-fit" sanding sheet no longer
adheres to the base-plate.
Possible causes:
The "cling-fit" velcro surface on the base-plate is
dirty or worn.
Remedy:
Clean the base-plate (10) with a brush.
Replace the base-plate (10).
When being adjusted, the base-plate no longer
engages properly.
Possible causes:
The pocket holes in the base-plate are blocked.
Remedy:
Remove the base-plate (10) and tap to clear out
the pocket holes.
Insufficient suction force.
Possible cause (where the paper dust bag holder
is in use):
The dust filter is choked with dust.
Remedy:
Tap the dust filter to clear, or replace if necessary.
Further possible cause:
The dust extraction channel is blocked.
Remedy:
Hold the sander/scraper and tap it with your free
hand.
Connect up to an external suction unit and
vacuum free.
Clean the dust extraction channel, as described in
the section on maintenance.

11.1 Fitting/removing the special perforated
base-plate
Fitting
Position the special perforated base-plate (14) so
that the velcro surface faces down and the pointed
tip faces forward. Ensure that the two rods on the
sander/scraper engage properly in the appropriate
holes in the special perforated base-plate (14).
Screw in and tighten the hexagon socket-head
screw (12), without the spring (11) fitted, using the
hexagon socket-head key (6).
Removing
To remove the special perforated base-plate (14),
reverse the steps for the fitting procedure
indicated above.
