3. Special conditions for use (X conditions)
A) When field-mounted transmitters are used the transmitter must have a valid declaration
in accordance with the ATEX/IECEx guidelines, related to their equipment classification.
B) The temperature resistance of the connection leads, the connection heads, the cable
entries and if necessary the blind plugs must be at least as high as the max. permissible
ambient temperature.
C) Suitable Ex e/Ex n-certified cable glands with a minimum ingress protection of IP54
shall be provided by the end user (in the end-use application, the minimum degree of
protection of IP54 shall be maintained) which must fulfil the applicable requirements of
IEC/EN 60079-0 and IEC/EN 60079-15 or IEC/EN 60079-7.
D) A heat reflux from the process which exceeds the permissible ambient temperature of
the housing is not allowed and must be prevented.
E) The field-mounted transmitters and digital displays used must have their own IEC/EN
approval. The installation conditions, electrical connection values, temperature classes
or maximum surface temperatures for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and
permissible ambient temperatures can be seen from the relevant approvals and must
be observed.
F) The installation and the operation of the temperature sensors has to be carried out
according to the requirements of the operating instructions.
The maximum permitted temperatures of the medium depend on the electric output of
the power supply and the temperature class assigned.
The increased ambient temperature range is mentioned in the operating instructions.
The flange must be installed in metallic holder to ensure potential equalisation.
The selection of cable glands and connecting cables depends on maximum ambient
and service temperature.
The service temperature at the process connection may not exceed the permitted
temperatures for the temperature class assigned if higher temperatures will occur in the
process (non-hazardous area).
