WARNING
• All riders should read all instructions in these user materials. Failure to adhere to these warnings could lead to serious injury, death, or
damage to property.
• These installation instructions are in addition to the Segway Personal Transporter (PT) User Manual and Safety Video provided with
your Segway PT. Be sure to read and understand the User Manual and watch the Safety Video before riding your PT.
• Always shut down your PT and unplug the AC Power Cord before performing any maintenance or installing any part or accessory.
• Carrying cargo in the bins or cases will change the behavior of the Segway PT. The greater the weight, the more the change. You
should acquaint yourself with these changes while riding at slow speeds.
• The Waterproof Cargo Case Set and Open-Top Storage Bin Set may reduce the rider's range of movement, increase the total width
of the PT, and reduce the rider's ability to lean into turns and/or lean uphill to maintain lateral stability. This may increase the risk of
collision, and/or prevent the rider from dismounting to the sides in the event of a fall, collision, loss of traction, Safety Shutdown, or
other emergency. The increased total width of the PT fitted with these accessories will make it more difficult to fit through doorways
and may increase the risk of a fall, collision, or loss of traction caused by bumping into other objects. For these reasons, riding a PT with
these accessories may increase risk of injury.
• When riding a PT with accessories installed, riders must be especially careful to avoid slippery surfaces and obstacles, not ride on
steep slopes, and not take fast turns.
• Do not use the Segway parking stand when these accessories are installed. The Segway parking stand is designed to support an
unloaded PT only and will not support the PT with accessories installed.
• Do not sit or stand on cargo frames, plates, cases, or bins. Do not place children or pets in open bins, cargo cases or on cargo frames.
• Never let go of a PT in Balance Mode, because the PT will travel some distance on its own, risking injury or damage.
• Use only Segway-approved parts, fasteners, and accessories, and tighten to the prescribed torque.
• Be sure to periodically check the tightness of all fasteners.

You should check to make sure the combined weight of the rider plus all accessories and cargo carried by the rider or on the PT does not
exceed 260 lbs. Exceeding the following weight limits, especially when riding on slopes or uneven surfaces, increases the risk of falling and
risk of injury.
Weight Limits:
• Maximum total payload (weight of rider plus all cargo): 260 lbs (118 kg)
• Maximum total payload on Lean Steer (including Front Case, any cargo, and phone/tablet/clipboard holder): 12 lbs (5.4 kg)
• Maximum total payload mounted to each Cargo Frame: 15 lbs (6.8 kg)
Maximum Allowable Cargo Weight (to be placed in/on each accessory):
• Standard Front Case: 7.4 lbs (3.4 kg)
• Power-Pack Front Case: 5.4 lbs (2.5 kg)
• Waterproof Cargo Case Set: 7.1 lbs (3.2 kg)
• Open-Top Storage Bin Set: 10.1 lbs (4.6 kg)
• Smart Phone Holder Mount: 0.5 lbs (0.23 kg)
• Tablet Holder Mount: 1 lbs (0.45 kg)
• Clipboard Case/Mount: 1 lbs (0.45 kg)
• Universal Water Bottle Mount: 2.7 lbs (1.23 kg)
