Maintenance:
The "Gas Sentinel" gas leak detector does not require maintenance. Periodically remove deposits of dust by
using a dry rag; do not use alcohol or solvents because they may contain substances that can cause false alarm
and that, during the time, can damage the leak detector reliability. It is not possible to vary the gas leak detector
calibration; if the fault (yellow) indicator lamp lights up, replace the product and send the non-functioning product
to the technical service. Intermittent lighting up of the yellow indicator lamp indicates reaching of the end of the
product life; the product remains operative but it should be replaced by a new one as soon as possible.
Performance test:
To check for correct performance of the "Gas sentinel" gas leak detectors, discharge, using the special
pressurized test can, a small quantity of gas at the opening and wait. If necessary, repeat the operation.
The instrument will indicate the presence of gas with a beep and lighting up of the red LED. If the gas is
detected for more than 30 seconds (internal delay provided in order to avoid spontaneous signalling), the
alarm configuration (red LED lit up and buzzer on) is activated. After the set delay time, the pilot relay of the
solenoid valve will also be energized.
If the performance test is carried out with an ordinary cigarette lighter, this would produce excessively high
peaks of gas concentration that could cause incorrect readings of the sensor for a week.
When installing two or more leak detectors in network, the alarm condition produced in a slave detector will
also cause the alarm in the master; on the other hand, the alarm produced in a master will not cause
activation of the slaves.
CAUTION: ANY PERFORMANCE TEST PERFORMED BY OPENING THE GAS RINGS, WITH
WINDOWS OPEN OR SHUT, IS USELESS AND HAZARDOUS. HENCE IT MUST BE AVOIDED AT ALL
COSTS.
Registration:
After the installer has finished the installation of the leak detector and has checked for its correct operation,
he should fill-in the adhesive label affixed to the instrument with the replace before date (5 years from the

date of installation); he should also fill-in the form on the back cover page with the following data:
