ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS / INFLATION
Before inflating the kayak please put the front deck lift and the fin in place.
FRONT DECK LIFT
You will find, supplied with your kayak a black flexible plastic strip. Insert this strip into the pockets located on the inner
walls of the side tube chambers, right under the front deck. For easier installation it is recommended to put the deck lift
strip in place before inflation. Pay attention to the small arrow sticker on the strip, which should be pointing forward,
towards the bow (front tip) of the kayak. This is important as the deck lift strip is not symmetrical and the ends are cut in an
angle, to accommodate the slanting of the front deck.
REMOVABLE FIN : POINTER K2
Attach the fin on the underside by folding the hull. Insert the extremities of the fin in the loops and stretch the hull as much
as possible to hold it in position. Once the kayak is inflated, this operation becomes impossible. The curvature of the fin
must be oriented towards the back end of the kayak.
It is recommended to use the fin in deep water (lake, sea...) where it will allow you to move forwards in a straight line. Do
not use it in shallow water: the fin would deteriorate the bottom of the kayak in shallow water. The kayak is equipped with
moulded directional strakes to allow a good performance without fin.
Do not use a sharp tool !
When inflating for the first time, inflate indoors at room temperature – the PVC will be soft and assembly will be easier. If
the item was stored below 0° C / 32° F, leave it at 20° C / 68° F for 12 hours before unfolding. Inflate it with an inflator from
Sevylor or any inflator designed for inflatable boats, rafts, pool floats, air beds, camping mattresses, and other low
pressure inflatables. These types of inflators have a hose and adaptors to fit the valves on this product.
Using of an air compressor will damage your product and automatically void all warranties.

1. Your kayak is equipped with two different types of valves:

a) Boston valve(s) – please see opposite figure : unscrew the valve cap (1). Screw the
I
valve insert (2) onto its base (3) and check that the valve cap stays accessible. Insert
the pump hose end piece and inflate it until you will reach the required pressure (see
S
point 3). After inflation fit all the valve(s) cap tightly (clockwise). NOTICE: a slight air-

leak before screwing the valve(s) cap is normal. Only the valve(s) cap can ensure
final AIR TIGHTNESS.
b) Push-in valve(s): open the cap of the valve and inflate using the adaptor of the inflator
which fits the valve. Close the valve and press it into the air chamber.
2. Inflate the kayak in the order of inflation as shown on the capacity plate printed on the product (European model) ; see
also figure # 1 (numbering of the valves). See figure # 1 (numbering of the valves) or paragraph below for U.S.
models. Note: the bladders inside the hull are tied to the hull with little tie down ropes, which can be accessed through
the zippers in the center and in the tips of the side chambers, under the deck. Should the bladders have shifted during
transportation causing distortion of the shape of the kayak, readjust the bladder position as necessary. Adjustments to
bladder positioning should be done only while the bladders are deflated, or only slightly inflated. Do not open the hull
zippers or attempt to adjust the bladders when they are fully inflated.
3. Max. air pressure : the correct pressure for the side chambers is 0.1 bar (= 100 mBar) ; the correct pressure for
the floor chamber is : 0.06 bar (= 60 mBar). Do not exceed it. *A manometer is supplied with your kayak and will
allow you to check the pressure in the air chambers. Overpressure : deflate until you reach the recommended
pressure. Drop of pressure : inflate again slightly.
*Kayaks supplied without manometer (products for the U.S.A.)
FIRST, inflate the side (main) chambers softly at first to stretch out the boat and allow the side chambers to take proper
shape. Then top them off alternately until they are free of wrinkles and feel firm to the touch. Observe the tips of the boat
and make sure the side tubes are inflated evenly and the tips are straight. Do not over-inflate!
SECOND, inflate the floor chamber. Open the flap in the back of the floor, open the push-in plug of the valve and inflate
until the floor is free of wrinkles and feels firm to the touch. Then close the valve plug and push the valve in to make it
flush with the floor. Close the flap.

DRAIN SYSTEM

Your kayak has been designed with a drain system, located on the underside of the kayak in the rear. It consists of a (or
several) drain port(s) with a plug. When using your kayak, the drain plug(s) should be closed, so no water enters the boat
and you can enjoy a dry kayak. Before entering the water, please check the drain plug(s) and make sure it is (they are)
securely closed by pressing the plug(s) along the edge with your thumb. As with any water activity and depending on
conditions and use, some water may enter the kayak. Therefore after use and taking your kayak out of the water, open the
