3. INSTALLATION
3.1 Power Supply
The RP-200 is a portable instrument powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery. The
instrument comes with a mains adapter (AL-103) enabling the RP-200 to be connected
to the mains for its operation and battery charging.
3.1.1 Operation using the External DC Charger
Connect the external DC charger AL-103 to the RP-200 through the external supply
power connector [7] located on the lateral panel. Connect the DC charger to the mains
to begin the charging process. Then, press the rotary selector [1] for more than two
seconds. The signal generator is now in operation. When the instrument is connected to
the mains, the CHARGER indicator [2] remains lit.
CAUTION
Before using the power adapter, make sure that the adapter is suitable for the
mains voltage.
3.1.2 Operation using the Battery
For the device to operate on the battery, disconnect the power cable and press the
rotary selector [1].
If the battery is weak, on display will appear the low battery indicator
the instrument will power off automatically.
When the battery charge falls up to certain threshold limit, before appearing the low
battery indicator
battery life in heavy situations.
3.1.2.1 Battery Charging
The instrument has a mains adapter to power or to charge the instrument.
There are two different situations on battery charge:
1)
With the instrument stopped, on having connected the external power adapter,
begins a cycle of fast load which duration will depend on the battery state. For
an empty battery this time will be of 3.5 h. approximately. The battery charge
indicator on the frontal panel will remain lit in amber during this period.
