Flow Sensor Custom Calibration:
The flow sensor comes calibrated from the factory, and if installed per the recommendations in the Flow Sensor Instal-
lation section, will most likely not need to be re-calibrated . If the flow sensor is not reading accurately due to installation
location or turbulence in the line, calibration may be needed . Calibration is a two-step process and involves telling the
controller what the flow is at two different known points – a low flow point and a high flow point . Proper calibration will
require an external calibrated flow sensor or flow test kit .
****NOTE**** The pipe size must be set (see Flow Options menu below) before custom
calibration is performed to ensure accurate calibration.
Follow these steps to calibrate the flow sensor:
10 . Navigate to the Flow Setup menu
RED or
11 . Use the
Press the ■ ENTER button to start the calibration process .
Note: If the flow sensor is not connected, the screen will indicate "Sensor UNAVAILABLE". Connect the sensor and at-
tempt calibration again .
12 . The first step is to set the low flow point . Adjust the flow to a low flow value . It is recommended to set the low flow in
the following ranges for best accuracy:
Pipe Size
2"
2 ½"
3"
4"
5"
If the flow cannot be adjusted within the recommended range, adjust as close as possible and continue to the next step .
13 . Once flow has stabilized, adjust the flow shown on the display to match the actual flow in the pipe by using the
RED or
GREEN button to adjust the flow value up or down .
14. Once the actual flow in the system (per external flow meter or flow test kit) and the flow shown on the screen match,
press the ■ ENTER button to save the setting .
15 . Press the ■ ENTER button again when prompted to calibrate the high flow point .
16 . Adjust the flow in the pipe to the high flow value . It is recommended to set the high flow in the following ranges for
best accuracy:
Pipe Size
2"
160-250 gpm
2 ½"
250-350 gpm
3"
375-550 gpm
4"
625-1000 gpm 2365-3785 Lpm
5"
1000-1500 gpm 3785-5678 Lpm
If the flow cannot be adjusted within the recommended range, adjust as close as possible and continue to the next step .
17 . Once flow has stabilized, adjust the flow shown on the display to match the actual flow in the pipe by using the
RED or
GREEN button to adjust the flow value up or down .
18. Once the actual flow in the system (per external flow meter or flow test kit) and the flow shown on the screen match,
press the ■ ENTER button to save the high flow calibration value and finish the process .
Flow Sensor Factory Calibration:
Choose this option to replace any custom calibration that may have been performed with the original calibration parame-
ters as originally shipped from the factory . Use caution when selecting this option as previous custom calibration cannot
be recovered .
If it is necessary to reset the flow calibration to the factory defaults, follow these steps:
5 . Navigate to the Flow Setup menu
6 . Use the
RED or
GREEN button to scroll through the list until the "Factory Calibration" is highlighted
7 . Press the ■ ENTER button
8 . Press the ■ YES button to reset or press the ■ NO button to cancel
GREEN button to scroll through the list until the "Custom Calibration" option is highlighted.
