There are several errors that will display on the screen if there is an issue with a sensor . The codes that will display will be
one of the following:
CAL: This is an indication that the valve, pressure sensor or flow sensor needs to be calibrated . Refer to the appropriate
calibration section of the manual to calibrate .
ERR: This is an indication that the valve, pressure sensor or flow sensor has a problem with the wiring, circuitry or other
part of the electrical system . Refer to the Diagnostics menu for more detailed data or contact Akron Brass Technical
Support for additional troubleshooting .
---: This is an indication that the pressure or flow sensor was detected on power up, but has since lost connection with
the system . This could be a CAN communications error between the display and the valve, or a hardware or wiring issue
with the sensor . Refer to the Diagnostics menu for more detailed data or contact Akron Brass Technical Support for ad-
ditional troubleshooting .
Symptom
Display will not identify
valve; stuck on startup
screen
Display is blank
Valve will not open or
close
Valve closes when the
OPEN button is pressed
and vice versa
Motor Runs but Valve does
not operate
Pressure will not display
Flow will not display
Flow will not display
accurately
Potential Cause
Problem with wiring between valve motor
driver and display
No power to the Navigator Pro
Problem with electronics or wiring to valve
motor; valve or actuator binding
1 . Sector Gear is in the wrong position .
2 . Motor wires are reversed ."
1 . Grove Pin is missing from the Shaft .
2 . Gear Sector is not engaging the Worm
Gear .
3 . Motor Shaft is disengaged from the
Planet gears
Problem with pressure sensor or wiring to
pressure sensor
Problem with Flow sensor or wiring to flow
sensor
Turbulence in the waterway or problem
with flow sensor

Possible Solution
Check network wiring or cable between display and
valve for loose connections or improper wiring .
Loose wiring, open breaker or blown fuse; power not
connected
Check motor wiring and connector . Check for loose
connections . Check to see if there are any obstructions
in waterway preventing valve ball from moving . Remove
the motor driver and check for loose screws or any
misalingment in gearing .
1 . Reposition the sector gear 90 degrees from current
position .
2 . Rewire the cable to the motor .
1 . Check the Groove Pin for full engagement .
2 . Check if the Worm Gear and Sector Gear are
engaged . 3 . Remove the Motor and check for
engagement of the Motor Shaft and Planet Gears
1 . Check wiring to pressure sensor .
2 . Use the diagnostics Menu to determine the voltage
being transmitted by the sensor and determine if it is in
range (0 - 4.5VDC)
1 . Check wiring to flow sensor and between valve and
display .
2 . Use the diagnostics Menu to determine the frequency
being transmitted by the sensor and determine I it
changes as the flow changes
1 . Custom calibrate flow sensor . Refer to Flow
calibration section earlier in manual .
2 . Use the diagnostics Menu to determine the frequency
being transmitted by the sensor and determine I it
changes as the flow changes
