"Quick-Set" Option Settings
Many of the options have a default setting that may be changed
without having to enter setting state simply by pressing the
START/SPLIT button while viewing the option. This "quick-set"

"Quick Set" function
feature is indicated by the presence of the "
display above the START/SPLIT button – when it is visible, a
"quick-set" feature is present. For example, in HRM settings, when
viewing the target zone setting, pressing the START/SPLIT button
will change the zone preset. "Quick-Set" is used only for option
settings that don't need numeric data to be changed. If you need
to change your Auto-Split interval, for instance, you would have to
enter a set mode. However, you have the option to turn the fea-
ture on and off with a "quick-set."
The "Quick-Set" feature for each of the options is indicated in the
following sections.
Changing the Option Settings
1. Press SET/FORMAT (SELECT) to begin the setting procedure for
the option that you have selected.
2. The first data value will begin flashing. Press DISPLAY (
–
STOP/RESET (
) to increase or decrease the value, respectively.
You may hold the keys down to quickly advance through the
value.
3. Press SET/FORMAT (SELECT) to advance to the next value, and
so on, until the option is set to your liking.
4. Press MODE (DONE) to exit the setting state.
