READ THIS INSTRUCTION SHEET AND THE SAFETY WARNINGS
CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING AND SAVE IT FOR FUTURE USE
General Features
• These electronic humidity sensors are designed to sense relative humidity in
refrigeration, ventilation and air-conditioning installations.
• It is suitable for use in a clean situation, and should be exposed to normal clean air.
Note: These HT-1xxx-UR Humidity Sensors are intended to control equipment under
normal operating conditions. Where failure or malfunction of the HT-1xxx-UR
control could lead to an abnormal operating condition that could cause
personal injury or damage to the equipment or other property, other devices
(limit or safety controls) or systems (alarm or supervisory systems) intended
to warn of or protect against failure or malfunction of the HT-1xxx-UR control
must be incorporated into and maintained as part of the control system.
WARNING: The sensing element is influenced by the presence of
chemical active environments (See pertinent Product Bulletin).

Mounting
Tools
• Flat-head screwdrivers (3 mm and 5 mm) or special tool to open module
(available from Johnson Controls, Code Number: TM-9100-8900).
• Drill, bits and appropriate 4 mm screws and plugs.
Figure 2: Removing cover from base
(1). Insert the screwdriver (or special Johnson Controls tool
TM-9100-8900) into the gap at the center top of the cover.
(2). While pressing down gently, prise the base away from the cover.
As the two parts separate, remove the tool and continue to pull the
cover away from the base until the cover is free.
Figure 3: Module Base
Mount the base on the wall and secure it with at least two screws.
Before piercing the wall it is recommended to cover the escapes of cables.
Wiring
• In order to prevent damages to the equipment and in order to avoid electric shocks,
before connecting or disconnecting any wires, ensure that all power supplies have
been switched off and that all the cables are potential free.
• The installation of electrical wiring must conform to local, national, and regional
regulations and should be carried out by authorized personnel only.
• Users should ensure that all Johnson Controls products are used safely and without
risk to health or property.
• Terminations are made on the terminal blocks in the base of the module, which
accept up to 1.5 mm
(1x14 AWG / 2x18 AWG) wires.
2
• All wiring to the module is at extra low (safe) voltage and must be separated from
power line voltage wiring.
• Do not run wiring close to transformers or high frequency generating equipment.
• Complete and check all wiring connections before applying power to the system
to which the module is connected.
WARNING: The circuits in the module are sensitive to static electricity.
Take suitable precautions.
