2. SAfETy

2.1. Safety and liability
Before installing and using this product, please read this manual carefully.
Any use outside the sphere of application defined by Somfy is forbidden. This invalidates the warranty
and discharges Somfy of all liability, as does any failure to comply with the instructions given herein.
Never begin installation work without first checking the compatibility of this product with the associated
equipment and accessories.
2.2. Specific safety instructions
Keep the Chronis io out of the reach of children.
To avoid damaging the product:
1) Avoid impacts!
2) Do not drop!
3) Do not spill liquid on the product or immerse in liquid.
4) Do not use abrasive products or solvents to clean the
product. Its surface can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.

2.3. Compatibility

In compliance with standard EN 12453 on the safe use of power operated doors and gates, if
using the Chronis io to control an automatic garage door or gate not visible to the user, it is
obligatory for a photo-electric cell type security device to be installed on this automated system. If
these instructions are not complied with, SOMFY does not accept any liability for any damage that
may be caused.
It is prohibited to use the Chronis io to control an alarm device.
