Cleaning the Coffeemaker Before First Use
Follow the steps below under "Adding Water and Ground Coffee" and "Brewing Coffee",
but do not add coffee grounds.
Selecting and Measuring Ground Coffee
The amounts shown below are suggested amounts.
To Brew

• two level tablespoons = one level scoop
• one cup = five ounces brewed coffee
Adding Water and Ground Coffee
1) Swing open the Brew Basket and, if desired, lift out the Removable Filter Insert.
When using paper filters, it is important that the sides of the filter fit flush against the
sides of the Filter Insert. If filter collapse occurs, for best results, dampen the filter
before placing it in the brew basket and adding ground coffee.
2) Place an 8-12 cup paper filter.
3) Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. Gently shake the Filter Insert to
level the ground coffee.
4) Be certain that the filter is centered in the Filter Insert. Close the Brew Basket.
BREWING COFFEE
Use This Amount of Ground Coffee
11 tablespoons or 5-1/2 scoops
9 tablespoons or 4-1/2 scoops
7 tablespoons or 3-1/2 scoops
6 tablespoons or 3 scoops
5 tablespoons or 2-1/2 scoops
