How to Use

1. Do not plug the salad chef in until ready to use.
2. Attach the feed chute to the salad chef base. This is done by holding the feed
chute at a 45-degree angle to the right, inserting it in to the socket on the salad
chef base, then rotating it 45 degrees back to the left so that it is locked in to
place in the upright position. This may seem very hard to do the first few times,
however the more it is placed on and taken off, the easier it will become.
3. Select a colored cone suitable for the slicing or shredding task you require and fit
it onto the star shaped drive mechanism at the back of the feed chute. Rotate it
slightly clockwise to hold it in place. WARNING: The shredding and slicing cones
are very sharp. Please handle with care.
4. Place the cone lock ring onto the feed chute, turning clockwise to lock it into
place. Note: The cone lock ring must be secure in order to hold the cone in place.
5. If using the funnel, the cone lock ring needs to be in place. Position the funnel
over the cone lock ring and snap it into place.
6. Prepare the fruit and vegetables before use by washing the produce before it is
used. Remove stones from cherries, peaches, nectarines, apples, etc.
7. Cut the ingredients into pieces that will fit into the feed chute, if necessary, and
place a suitable container under the cone lock ring or funnel.
8. Place the food upright in feed chute until it is full. Plug the power cord into and
outlet and turn the salad chef on and apply pressure evenly with the food pusher.
Failure to properly load the feed chute or to apply the correct pressure may result
in the food falling over in the feed chute which will result in uneven slices and
shreds.
