Using your Patient Assistant
What is the Patient Assistant?
The Patient Assistant model PA96000 is used to record (mark) heart rhythm data in your cardiac
device. Carry it with you at all times. Use the Patient Assistant while, or just after, having symptoms,
as instructed by your doctor. Data is stored in the cardiac device, not the Patient Assistant. Your
doctor uses the data to check your heart rhythm and to help determine if your symptoms are heart
related. Examples of symptoms (sometimes called "events") include fainting, palpitations, dizziness,
and shortness of breath.
This manual provides instructions on using, handling, maintaining, and other information about the
Patient Assistant. If you have questions, contact your doctor or clinic, or contact Medtronic using the
information on the back cover of this manual.
