5. Clean the groove in the intermediate flange (Fig. 25,
item 1) and lightly oil with the test oil.

Do not use a damaged or dirty connection piece
(Fig. 25, item 2) for the test.

For VDO-CP Type DW10B and Type DW10B TED,
use the connection piece VDO X39-800-300-031Z.
The connection piece VDO X39-800-300-031Z is
not included in the scope of delivery and must be
ordered separately from your VDO dealer.
6. Lubricate connection piece (Fig. 25, item 2) with
grease that is very adhesive and heat-resistant (e.g.
Bosch FT1V4, 5 700 002 025) inside and outside,
and insert it in the groove of the intermediate flange
(Fig. 25, item 1).
7. Slide the VDO-CP into the connection piece (Fig. 25,
item 2). For coverage, rotate flywheel on EPS.
8. Secure the clamping bracket to the clamping rail
of the EPS using the two fastening screws (Fig. 25,
item 3).

9. On an EPS 815, slide the touch guard (see Fig. 15,
item 2) over the drive coupling and secure.
10. Turn flywheel of the EPS 815 by hand and ensure
that grinding noises do not occur between the touch
guard (Fig. 15, item 2) and intermediate flange (see
Fig. 15, item 3). If grinding noises occur, correct the
fit of the touch guard.

Connecting the VDO-CP hydraulically

This completes electrical connection of the VDC-CP.
