Installation Instructions

General information

These instructions give the necessary in-
formation for correct installation, at the job
site, of the economiser dampers and rain
hood assemblies.
The economiser is located inside the return
section of the unit (see Fig. 1).
The control board, cables and all material
necessary for installation are supplied with
this accessory.

Technical specifications

This accessory includes the return and
outdoor air dampers, the drive motor with
a return spring modulated by temperature
control (enthalpy probes optional) and out-
door air intake rain hood.
This accessory is comprised of:
- Damper assembly, with motor, for outdoor
air.
- Damper assembly, with motor, for return
air.
- Control board, plastic partitions and pro-
tecting cover.
- Temperature sensors for return and out-
door air.
- Wiring assembly, ready for connection to
unit wiring.
- Complete rain hood assembly, preassem-
bled, including aluminium mesh filters.
- Screws and wall hole guides for assem-
bly.
Installation
Turn main power supply to the unit off by
means of switch Q1. Prior to installing the
economiser:
- It is indispensable to know how the return
duct will be connected at the job site.
There are two possibilities: Side or bottom
duct (Figs. 1 and 2).
- The "barometric damper" or "extraction
fan" accessory, when required, should be
installed previously (Fig. 4 and 5).
Install the economiser as follows:
1. Assembly of outdoor air damper (Fig.
2)
Remove and discard the top outdoor air
intake cover 1 of the unit.
Open the access door to the return sec-
tion 3 of the unit.
Fit the outdoor air damper
grille available inside the unit.
To do this, confront the damper frame
over the guides and slide inwards until
it is centred on the entire surface of the
internal frame. Fasten the upper frame in
place with 2 screws, and then the bottom
frame with two more screws. The motor
should be located to the left of the access
door.
2. Assembly of the rain hood (Fig. 3)
Loosen and remove the eight M-16
screws 12 on both sides of the grille.
10
Check the leakproof gasket on the rain
hood supporting perimeter.
Centre the rain hood assembly on the
grille and fit the upper tab 14 beneath
the overhang of the roof of the unit.
Centre the fastening holes over the nuts
on the unit panel, and fit and tighten the
screws removed previously (4 screws
per side).
3. Assembly of the return air damper
If the unit does not require the "baromet-
ric damper" or "extraction fan" accessory
(Fig. 2). The return air damper 7 should
be fitted, inside the unit, on the side grille
2 (when the return duct is a side con-
nection), or on the bottom nozzle (when
the return duct is a bottom connection).
For assembly, remove and discard the
corresponding cover, and proceed as
assembly of outdoor air damper.
If the unit requires the "barometric
damper" or "extraction fan" accessory
(Figs. 4 and 5). The return air damper
7 should be fitted on the partition panel
17 that is a part of the above mentioned
accessories, and which will have been
installed previously.
In both cases, do not remove any unit
cover that is not necessary for the as-
sembly of the camper; and make sure
no screw is left out.
4. Position and adjustment of dampers
The stand-by position of the dampers
is:
- Outdoor air 6 , closed.
- Return air 7 , open.
Adjustment of the blades on the out-
door air damper 6 : Before fastening
the shaft motor to the damper, adjust
the blade displacement manually to the
point when they begin to open (visually,
approximately 20°).
5. Assembly of the economiser control
board (Fig. 6)
Fasten the board support 18 to the
vertical profile inside the unit, near the
access door, and just below the outdoor
air damper.
Install the economiser control board, A4,
with the 4 plastic partitions supplied.
Connect the economiser cables as
shown on the wiring diagram: power sup-
ply cables (J17, 580 and 581), accessory
6 on the
communication cable (J16, 700), motor
cables (R-red, C-black, 0-10V-grey),
return probe (J13-black) and outdoor
probe (J3-white).
6. Assembly of return and outdoor air tem-
perature sensors (Fig. 7)
Depending upon the assembly of the
dampers (see Figs. 2, 4 and 5), fit the
sensor supports as well as the return
(B15) and outdoor (B17) temperature
sensors.
7. Assembly of enthalpy probe, ref. C7400A
8. J19, J20 and ENTALP jumper selection
- J19 jumper: Open by default, selects
- J20 jumper: Open by default, selects
- ENTALP jumper, S2: Open by default,
9. Configuration of economiser control
10. Air quality probe (optional)
GB
(optional)
The enthalpy probes are an optional
accessory.
Fit one enthalpy probe on the return side,
and another on the outdoor side, in the
holes and with the screws supplied.
Pass the red and white cables from
the economiser control board to the
probes. Connect cables as per the wiring
diagram. Fit the ENTALP jumper on the
control board A4. Disconnect outdoor
probe B17 (connector J3), but do not
disconnect return probe B15 (connector
J13).
Note:
The enthalpy probes should be located
in such a way that their terminals (+ red
cable and S white cable) are to the right,
and the 2 small sensors are at the top.

perature/smoke alarm. If closed, selects

ture/smoke alarm.

board and adjustment of minimum open-
ing
Once this accessory is fitted, along
with the necessary elements, the unit
is powered on once again. Make sure
the green LED (V1) of the economiser
control board (A4) is on permanently.
To carry out a search and configuration
of accessories, press the test button on
the Yklon board (A1) for over three sec-
onds, until the red LED goes on. Once
this search and configuration process
begins, the red LED goes on and stays
on until this operation is over. Once it
goes off, make sure the green LED (V1)
of the economiser board is flashing to
indicate the accessory has been con-
figured.
A potentiometer, P1, on the economiser
board allows modulating the damper
manually to check its operation. The
damper will go back to its operating
position after 30 seconds. As long as
the indoor fan is on, the damper will be
open proportionally to renew air circula-
tion. Factory set default value is 10%.
This minimum percentage can be set by
means of potentiometer P1, or through
the communication network. To set it with
the potentiometer, set the minimum value
until the minimum opening is reached,
and then press configuration button SW1
for 3 seconds to store this value.
The air quality probe is equipped with a
