5.0 - FIRST START-UP
Before commissioning, verify that:
• All of the instructions on the rating plate, including the direction of flow, are observed;
• The hole of the dust cap (13) is not clogged.
• IMPORTANT: The pressurisation manoeuvre of the equipment must be carried out very slowly so as to avoid
possible damage;
• NOTE: under no circumstances should a blind cap be placed instead of the dust cap (13) as the regulator may
not work;
• Close the ball valve downstream of the regulator;
• Slowly open the upstream shut-off devices;
• After having gradually pressurised the system, proceed with manual reset (see 4.0) and check the tightness and operation
of the valve.
6.0 - OPSO CALIBRATION
If the equipment is not already calibrated, proceed as follows:
• Open the upstream shut-off valve slowly;
• Make sure the users are stopped and rearm the valve (see 4.0);
• If the valve does not remain armed, turn the adjustment screw a few turns (11) until the reset operation is possible. NOTE:
for this operation, in the diaphragm versions, it is necessary to remove the closing cap (10). In piston versions, the cap
(10) must NOT be unscrewed/removed, it is possible to calibrate using the specific tool (see fig.4 and 5).
• If the calibration range of the pressure regulator (installed downstream) allows it, the OPSO calibration can be executed by
increasing the value of the regulator outlet pressure (recommended value +40%) (checking it with a pressure gauge). To do
this, tighten the adjusting screw (2) until the shut off device is triggered;
• If the OPSO device has a higher calibration than the regulation range, that the regulator can supply, use an auxiliary gas
pressure with which the downstream pressure must be increased slowly (checking it with a pressure gauge) up to the desired
trigger value (recommended value +40%). Then loosen the adjustment screw (11) until the device is triggered;
• In both cases, reset the system by following the correct procedure and verify that the trigger value is that desired by repeating
the release step 2-3 times;
• If necessary, adjust the trigger value by turning the adjustment screw (11);
• Restore operating pressure of the regulator and tighten the closing caps of the devices.
7.0 - MAINTENANCE
• Before carrying out any dismantling operation on the device, make sure that there is no pressurised gas inside.
• To check the valve seal parts, loosen the fixing screws (3) of the cover (2). At this point check the integrity of the obturator
(7) and, if necessary, replace the rubber seal gasket (4);
• Next, check the conditions of the sealing O-ring (8) of the cover (2), and replace it if necessary (recommended);
• Make sure the O-ring (8) of the cover (2) is inside the provided groove;
• Reassemble the cover and secure it in its original position, being very careful not to "pinch" or damage the O-ring during
tightening;
• Tighten the screws (3) gradually, following a "cross" pattern, until the torque (tolerance -15%) indicated in the table below
is reached. Use a calibrated torque wrench to do this.
• Check the body/cover seal.
