6 Limitations on Use

Intended Life
A local risk assessment should be carried out based upon activity and usage.
Lifting Loads
User weight and activity is governed by the stated limits.
Load carrying by the user should be based on a local risk assessment.
Environment
The device is suitable for submersion in fresh water only. Light surface corrosion affects neither
the function nor the security of this device. However, if it is heavily corroded, stop using and
contact your practitioner.
Avoid exposing the device to abrasive or corrosive environments, such as those containing sand,
salt or chemically treated water e.g. swimming pools. After any exposure to such environments
rinse the device in fresh water and dry thoroughly. Exclusively for use between -15 °C and 50 °C
(5 °F and 122 °F).

7 Fitting Advice

The following instructions in this section are for practitioner use only.
Symptom
A recurring noise occurs between the
socket and the knee
The adapter moves has moved out of
position.
Solution
The bolt must be tightened to the torque
ratings specified in this document. Apply
Loctite.
Advise the user not to use the device until
adjusted, repaired or replaced.
Inspect device. If components are worn or
damaged, then remove and replace with
new components. Reposition as necessary
and retighten as per instructions later in this
section.
