Using With the Base

Before installing the infant car seat:
• Check that your vehicle seat belt is compatible with
the infant car seat by referring to your vehicle owner's
manual and page 41 in this user guide�

Overhang

It is important that the base of
the child seat rests completely
flat on the vehicle seat with no
side overhang� As seen in the
illustration, it is permissible to
allow up to 3 in� (7�6 cm) of the
base to hang over the edge of
the vehicle seat� Some vehicle
seats do not allow enough of
the child seat base to contact
the vehicle seat� If this is the
case, choose another seating
position� Failure to do so could
cause the child seat to not
perform as intended�
