PROBLEM / FAULT
The motors do not
start

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBABLE CAUSE
1. No power supply voltage.
2. Disconnecting devices
are set to "OFF".
3. One or more emergency/
safety systems enabled.
4. Fuse tripped or faulty
circuit breakers.
5. Buttons not working.
1. Dry shaft.
2. Loose chuck pulley.
3. Loose motor pulley.
1. Incorrect speed
2. Chips not coming out of
hole.
3. Dull drill bit
4. Feeding too slow.
5. Drill bit not lubricated.
1. Worn spindle bearings.
2. Drill bit not correctly
installed in the chuck.
3. Chuck not correctly
assembled.
1. Spring has improper
tension
1. Dirt or oil on the tapered
inside surface of chuck or
on the spindles tapered
surface.

SUGGESTED REMEDY
1. Check and restore power supply.
2. Set the disconnecting devices to "ON".
3. Reset the emergency systems and
check their effi ciency.
4. Replace the tripped fuses and check
the condition of the circuit breakers.
5. Check effi ciency of the START buttons.
1. Lubricate the shaft.
2. Check tightness of retaining nut on
pulley.
3. Tighten set screws in pulleys.
1. Change speed.
2. Retract drill bit frequently to clear chips.
3. Resharpen drill bit.
4. Increase feeding speed.
5. Lubricate drill bit.
1. Replace bearings.
2. Install drill bit correctly.
3. Correctly assemble the chuck.
1. Adjust spring tension.
1. Use a household detergent to clean
the tapered surfaces of the chuck and
spindle and to remove all dirt and oil.
